Side Panniers 2012 ZX14
09/22/13 7:23 PM

Hi folks,

I'm planning an extended bike ride at the end of the year and would like to get some panniers for my 2012 ZX14 but so far struggling to find anything. I have the huge Akrapovic mufflers on too so clearance will be a problem. Only found top boxes at this stage. Anyone seen anything out there?

Maybe I should start making these and selling them. Cost me less than a hard luggage set.

When I slung my saddlebags I had the straps under the seat so my wife didn't have to sit on them. The weight ended up breaking 3 out of 4 mounting tabs on the tail bodywork. We finished the trip with the bag straps running in top of the seat. So, I may have to make a couple of ally bars to hold the bags off the bodywork, or just get hard bags.

Planning on getting these next year, money permitting:

Bags-Connection Blaze Panniers

Twisted Throttle does not show them on their site, but after some emailing with SW Motech and Twisted Throttle, they said call TT and ask for part number HTA.08.740.10900 when I'm ready to buy.

If you get them first, report back!

I'd love a trailer, but I don't get to make enough trips to make it practical. I need something quick & easy for commuting and one trip per year type of stuff.

The gear they make is very good. I had the speedpack on the last trailer I made. Good zips, finish and stitching.

jtemple, thanks for the info. I've decided the Blaze panniers will be worth a go. Might get a Alu-Rack and a tail bags too. Will post photos when all is installed.

I reckon Givi V35s like mine would clear those cans... Where are you located?

Hi 1441, I am based in Thailand unfortunately. For the amount of trips I do I reckon the blaze should be enough for now. Thanks a heap anyway.
