Anyone at NY show heard anything about a 14r motor in the C-14 next year?

Was wondering if any members have attended the Kawasaki show in New York over the last several days and heard anything about future plans on putting the 14r engine in the C-14 maybe next year?

I hope they come out with it in 2014, it seems simpler to make one engine for both bikes, not two engines for two similar bikes.

Bikes are harder to sell as prices always increase every year...this will be a fantastic way to sell a ton of Sport touring machines with 170-180 HP!

Am ready to sell mine the day it comes out and write the check!

the 5 or 6 kawi people i talked to at times square, did not even know the new 14r (2013) got abs. so i doubt anyone knew much and probably would not talk anyway. i would love to see the 14r motor in the c-14, but i own a s1000rr and a gsxr1000, so i always want to go fast. but i think most sport touring people want comfort, fuel economy, good tire mileage, cruise control, heated seats/bars....... i think 195 h.p. is at the bottom of the wish list. the connie now weighes in at about 683 pounds. i hustle it pretty hard, but its no liter bike and you have to really good to go 10/10ths with the c-14. if they build it..i will buy it!, but i cooled off about it happening. one good thing, at the show, was i got to talk with tom sykes,zx-10r world super bike pilot. great guy and he got one good looking wife. makes sense to me now, but i was surprised that the zx-10r race bike has a real long swingarm. tom said with over 200 hp, the only way to keep the front tire on the ground, even with the electronics.

My dealer (Twigg Cycle, owner and finance manager) think 2014 will see a major C14 upgrade. Just based on the cycles we've seen the ZX14 and C14 go through so far.

So what would a "major upgrade" be? Cruise control, maybe. Heated seat, maybe. Ohlins suspension components, unlikely. ZX14R engine? If they change the frame, because the 14R won't fit in the existing C14 frame.

I could care less. My 2012 goes faster than I want to go, and does it with balance and smoothness and neutral handling when loaded. And I already have electronic cruise control and heated seats. So I won't have to take a loss on my 2012 just to upgrade marginally for no good reason.

But its fun "what iffing".

Don't see why they would want to put the 14R engine in the GTR/Concours. The engine already in there isn't exactly lacking and suits the bike perfect. Lots more top end on a bike like that would be pointless. If you want 14R performance get a 14R.
They may tweak the existing unit for even more low/midrange with maybe more cc's or a re-map etc but as Privateer has pointed out the 14R motor is not a simple 'drop in' fit so probably not.
