Best looking ZX jacket?
03/22/13 10:11 PM

I am looking into getting a new riding jacket and am not sure which fits the look of our machine the best.

Alpinestars, Joe Rocket, and Speed and Stength all have some interesting designs, but I am open to listenitng to some fellow 14R riders as to suggestions, (and photos.....)LOL

I wear the Teknic Supervent Pro. It is a full mesh, made for the Southeast Texas weather. It does come with a wind/water proof liner. I have rode down to the 30s with a thermal layer back and forth to work, 10 miles. Fit is on the trim side, but I like it.

I like both of those. The kawi, especially. The Teknic is futuristic/race styled, which I also like. Even has the aerodynamic hump.

This is my...."you talkin to ME?" jacket......all leather....VERY noticeable during the daylight...hand embroidered...beautiful dragon dyed leather embellishments. The pic doesn't do it justice really. It's quite bright.Fully armored.Goes nicely with the ZX theme I think.

I have a mesh AGV Sport Veloce. I wear it in the hot weather. I wouldn't trust it to save my skin in a high speed slide but good for 30mph prolly better than nothing. It has a hump which is cool looking but that is the hottest part of the jacket. Also back and elbow armor. Thin, soft leather arms. If you are going over 50 I really think regular motorcycle leather is the safe way to go. Synthetics might melt and cause burns. The

I had a Cortech DSX denim. It was fully armored...not very expensive...and an all around good jacket...14 something thick denim. In my crash...it totally kept me from any rash...was barely scraped...I think I was moving around 55 when I hit...They had to cut it off of me though.I bought another one....armor in all the right places.Nice Fall jacket or Spring jacket...take out the liner...goes great during hotter days.

Just got this one to replace a mesh I've been riding in for the last year. Its hot in the PI year round and it's suposed to flow air well. I'm more concerned about it's performance than the looks. I added the bioarmour back protector and bionic chest guards.

thanks for all the info, suggestions, and photos thus far.

I was keeping an eye on an auction on a *used but new with tags* jacket, but not sure I want to take a chance on it not fitting without being able to try it on first.

I think I'll go up to a bike dealer around here and try some on to make sure I get the size that fits the best for that particular make, cause from what I've read, the fit can vary from maker to maker.

thanks again.

I agree, Grn. I am wanting something with a bit of *pizzaz* but at the same time, not too juvenile looking.

I like the Mercury by Teknic, as well. I'll look at some and try a few on this weekend. Thanks for all the input and suggestions.

You know...I like my Icon Dragon jacket...but it's awfully 'gaudy'...even though it is the real deal for Icon...full leather...great quality all around.VERY pricey...rare as well.I honesty don't wear it...maybe once or twice I've worn it...and felt kinda like it was too much 'bling' so to speak. But it is a beautiful design in person....very well done.

I'm into dark jackets and such.I've got an "Element" jacket(and leather pants)...looks kinda like a Power Trip flak jacket...it's very cool...Didn't cost an arm and a leg either.Fits nicely...has attachment zippers for the jacket to pants....both ran me about 250 bucks total. It's armored...fits good.I'll be wearing it this Summer...but it seems like it'll be fine for a getoff...Not quite as 'rugged' as that Supervent...but okay.I think you'd do well getting that Supervent...I was gonna last year...but opted for the Cortech DSX instead.Another really well made jacket...if you can still find em.

I Have a few Joe Rocket Jackets but this one is my favorite for all seasons.
It has a liner for colder days and has a removable side cover which removes part of the sleeves and sides to reveal a mesh which will help cool U down in the summer months.
Its a good overall riding jacket.

Thanks Green!

This is where the mesh is hidden and the covers can be folded and stuck under the seat.

Just basically stole this one from one of my HD buddies who never wore it:

Not sure if I am going to be able to wear it in the SETX heat, already hit 80 today. It vents well without the liner while moving. Feels real heavy & kind of a loose fit but it looks cool.

Here's a sharp ZX14R T Shirt I think they just came out with.

I like the insect theme to it. Seems most of the new japanese streetbikes are designed with an insect sort of look.
