Hmm... I'm not quite ready to trade my 2010 just yet lol... Abs and Traction control would be nice though.

I'll keep my 08.
This reminds me of the 'Young Ninja' mag cover that has been circulating the last few years. "superchaged?' yeah, right.
I'd take the traction control for sport riding but not for whatever outrageous price they are asking for bikes these days. Personally, I think the traction control would be more valued on a liter bike or smaller. The 14 is still going to be way too big to corner. Traction control may be an asset on the dragstrip but if it wiuld have to very advanced. Traction control is what launching is all about. I'm sure the really good drag racers are better and quicker at manual clutch/throttle control than even the best of current TC.

g'day Bean ol bean,
Yeah I heard about this as well. I was 90% sure of buying a ducati multistrada, and then I hear about this.....
I did hear that these features were going to appear in the 2012 model
cept I heard, that the traction control was going to be the S-KTRC (the same software as on the zx10-r
ABS is the KIB's system (again same as zx10-r)
as much as I liked the multistrada.... I loved my zx14 sooo much and would have another if it had the electronic doo hickies on it (and if I can ride it).

G'day ozjohnno and it reads just like you said all those goodies thats gunna cause me some trouble with the MOF as she dont know im probably gunna buy one as they rate that same tech mods as outta this world on the ZX10r an to put the same stuff on the 2012 ZX1400. a couple of days ago i was at the kwaka dealers Shane has sold 12 ZX10R's in less than 7 weeks and for a small population only 2 million,so to have that same tech on the 2012 ZX1400. IM SOLD !!!

Just got back from my Kwaka dealer had to go there to pick up the grab handle that I ordered. He reckons the article has pretty much got it right and will probably be available as early as November. But yeah you're right Bean, I'd be very wary of any new model when it first hits but then again someone has to be the guinea pig.

I'm INN! I think I'll have enough saved, sell the bike, walk in, I'm in. I'll let you know if all pans out in 11 or 12 months from now.
And I sure am not going to step off a fast bike and buy a slower one with a few buttons to push?

Yeh bros it will be good to buy that afters 6 months so if there is any think that has to be upgraded like the one problem of the ZX10r release (valve springs) then we can get the safest ZX1400 2012 BIKE, IM LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING IT THEN IM GOING TO SAVE MY $80 EACH WEEK to save the money for change over! but when time comes 1 month before im going to advertise to sell my bike ( private ) then just get a small loan for the change-over for a safer new ZX1400, YOU HOO THEN THE MOF WONT GET ANGRY AND PUT ME IN HA HA

I'm really surprised so many people are ready to trade in their babies to get TC and ABS with no power improvements and minimal styling changes for 2012 prices.
Oh, and I really hate the signals in the mirrors thing as well. Makes it look like a Zuki follower too.

Hey edgcrusher the bike to me is fast enough with a few small Powermods,I had a 04 CBR1100xx ,it,s DUAL LINK braking actually saved me when I hit a 35kmph left corner way way way over cooked with my wife as pillion instead of grabbing to much front brake on a not so perfect road !the bike just SQATTED my wife nearly pushed me off too! but I would not of made it on, and did not stop on the 09 ZX1400 JUNE LAST YEAR that was only going 40kmph solo, I got distracted when five bike Cops went past me down the Main Street I looked up to see a Traytop ute stopped dead in front of me I didn't see any tailights ( 4 weeks later I saw the same ute braking at a local shop/center on a rise, I was so pissed I could hardly see his Tailights ! ) maybe with a few idiot proof controls I wouldn't have this now !and whats wrong with having!!! with good REASON to not want to go through this for "myself and families sake again"as I still am very lucky to still be able to ride again in 6-12 months after over 9 months so far in my 49th yr !ps susuki hey maybe the ZX10r is too as it is the same as that! IMO I luv my 2009 ZX1400 I've bin in constant with the MOF LOL he he!! on a 20% reduced income in the last 12 months and my CBR Covered the first 3 months of no income, I still have spent over $3500 extra on my ZX so I wouldn't say IM soooooo quick to get rid of it!! more so its good to have a goal to look forward too!

Here Here Bean, I love my Bike but I'm the first to admit thats it's got more power than my ability, I haven't had any major prangs but I tell you I've had my heart in my mouth on more than one occassion. I've always had a passion for technology and if it can help keep me upright well then why not?

Hi there Edgecrusher,
Personally I reckon that the addition of ABS and traction control is a great and MAY add a degree of
safety to your riding and allow you to use the abundance of power of the zx14 more effectively.
The reason why I say may is that studies show that drivers and riders tend to more risky behavior when they have ABS and traction control to back them up. I know personally of a bloke who's traction control sensor picked up a rock, taking it out and while he was waiting for a replacement part, he gave it a fist full coming out of a corner (fine IF the traction control is working) and he high sided his BMW S1000rr at 140km/hr, binning his bike.
He was lucky to walk away from that one.
Another bloke has ABS on his CBR1000rr and he regularly pushes it into corners, braking hard and relying on the ABS to save his arse when he has near full brake on while cranked over. All it would take is for a sensor to fail and he would be in more shit than a werribee duck (werribee is where the big sewage treatment plant is for melbourne)
Its a lot like having an earth leakage detector fitted to your house.
Just cause you have one, you dont go sticking a knife in your toaster. The penalty for it failing has way too high a consequence.
like everything with motorbikes, it all comes down to the nut behind the wheel.

I caught it, but didn't really connect the dots. She's done! 2012 changes the body shots.
Yes, the body line around the radiator hoop no longer swaps with the large engine side covers, nor does the windshield curve with the old or may not line the new holes with an older shield. The winkers are a smart idea for we go full ugly naked one more time. That sucking intake may look better in person. Right now, it looks like a sue no me washed over it. Rear winkers have a chrome inlay? Two piece rear wink or? Tank looks the same. Frame looks the same. ABS will be fun to see if I can squirt the painted lines and make noise or watch it work on the quick release.
Better be nasty fast too or it can stay on the dock and glow green.
