Cool, chrly. I had to look up the Oroville Dam, and find that it's completely across the country from me here in FL. I see its elevation is 900' at the top and 230' at the bottom = 670' drop. Bet that's cool to look over! We rode to and over the Fontana Dam in NC, which is a little shorter at 480'.
Dams amaze me.

Went the other direction today and shot this looking back at the dam from about 14 miles west. You might be able to see the face of the dam about half way between bike seat and sky..It is earth filled so it is a lite brown color.

Grn, by hte weekend if Wed Storm is not too bad.. The green color photgraphs quite well against a snowy background :)
Thought about teh incoming storm and decided to take advantage of the day we were having and went up into the foothills about 3400 ft. At this point, I was coming across water in hte turns with occasional ice spots and a lot of small hard to see gravel.. Figured I pushed my luck enough being the wimp that I am :) ..Came on home where it was warm .. Anyway. here is my green against the snow shot for the day ;)
