I think he HAS already shit a brick. The nice thing about those roads is you can do 150 mph without being too worried about police or having to slow way down for tight corners. I'm sure he could be doing 190, 200 all the time but that would be asking for trouble. I have places I could do top speed but I haven't done it yet. The thing is you don't just go do it, you make sure the there is room to slow down and you hope there's no deer or cops ahead. It's risky even with big sweeping curves. Manage your risk when you ride, Grn. We don't need you to crash that new bike and jangle those brains around again.

Three back tires in 2700 miles.(on my third now)One front so far.I'd LOVE to go full out tilt on these roads...some I do.BUT...you gotta think about other drivers. That's the thing. You can't ride any of these bikes full out 'out there'...someone will end up dead.I wouldn't want to be the one that killed a family.Yeah...she's fast.WAY fast.Faster than anything I've ridden.243 HP...yup.She's got it alright.

I'm honestly not trying to outshine any 14's.This is a 14 Forum. My forum home. It's easy to interpret certain things I say as pumping up the H2 OVER the 14.Honestly...that never enters ANY of my comments. It should never be taken that way.

Thanks Rookster.Appreciate that.I COULD ride like crazy, and vid em...and post em...but what for?To prove something?Nope...I want to stay around and keep riding. There's just TOO many variables on the street out of our control.I open her up in the curves and stuff when I FEEL it's safe.I don't just get on it everywhere I 'can'.

You are right Rook. There's really good opportunities here to ride like the TT.I'm not that guy though. But I do have fun...and this bike has restarted my riding enjoyment.

I've learned never to underestimate Grn. 3 tires @ 2,700 miles. If that's babying the bike, I'll eat the next carcass. Mind if I use your thread to slow my video ride, Grn?

"i must be a grand pop driver"...hmmm..well,you said it,not me;).I hear these 'internet stories' about HIGH mileage tires on a zx14.I've never gotten above 5500 miles on ANY rear tire on my 14 EVER.And these tires were advertised as..."HIGH MILEAGE".Not here they aint.

I've got now 2855 miles on my H2.Been riding her since the last week of April basically. Not everyday either...rain.If I keep going at this rate...come December,it's gonna be a spendy 3/4 year.So someone said.."IF I had this bike,I'd"...I want to ride, not be changing tires every other week.My first tire went 1000 miles. My second went...1744. We'll see with this new one.

I already need a new rear sprocket. It's STILL rideable...but it won't be for much longer;)Trying to get a 42 out back...I'll get my 200mph hit one way or the other before I die.On video of course;)

Just a little tease;)

Yep changed mine at a lil over 9700 miles.....so now your saying you went thru tires in a little bit over 700 miles.........come on man really. Well take care of your beautiful new bike green and ride safe, but after your 700 mile tire change story you lost all credibility with me or you have no knowledge of when a tire is due for a change.

LOL...lost credibility?Do the math....sheesh.

"All i see is a gen 1 zx14 beating you?"...hmmmm...you do own a 14 don't you?Let's see,you can't do mathematics, and apparently, you can't see very well either;)I think I see how you managed 9700 miles on one tire. You know...they have places called 'gyms' around to get a workout.Pushing your bike is I guess ONE way to save on a membership(and get yer exercise). Can I give ya a teensy tip here? You RIDE the bike...

"or you have no knowledge of when a tire is due for a change"...well,those kinda yellowish strips down the center tread, that was my first tipoff .

Gen 1's came out with RED?I don't recall that model .

I guess I did kinda state the tire deal a bit oddly.TWO tires in 2700 miles...but paid actually for three...the new one.My bad.Didn't notice I worded it like that.Paid for the first one with the bike purchase.

Anyone here seen a RED Gen 1 zx14?Factory?

The PERSIMMON RED w/Matte Black cowls isn't a RED motorcycle. Not like that badboy zx14RRRRRRRR in that pic.

My bud was tapped out at that point...I was still accelerating.Just wanted to include him in the post. He's a great guy.Had you seen the video, you wouldn't be saying what you did here....'tease'...get it?He's piped and flashed and PC'd up.Mine was just under the 13.5 limiter right there.Within a second or so,I was topped out and rollin by him.

He rolled by me well faster than I was runnin.I reeled him in nicely.Even with his at least 30 bike lead.

The H2 is faster....even with their Factory 18/44 gearing.Wait till I get that 42....maybe a 19 up front.WHEEEEEE!
Mine was stock right there. No flash,no pipe.

You mean, 'run at your own pace?' I think Kruz has first gen red. Black/Red/Blue is first year gen1 if the trivia is correct. I'm more testing things and staying away from traffic, i.e., rolling metal with no give. Pretty much a boring ride and seeing what my pace was from being run over, I have a mustank again with another attempt at me. I'll bore you with that one too once I edit the rest out. But this is more old fart riding, keeping the balance, timing the lights so I can play hand/eye/focal point. I can see how rusty I am on the way up for the return trip.

Today's bike is so capable, it's a lounge chair ride at that speed, right? So stable the faster you go.

Same here. I have the sneaking suspicion that there are a few more of us out there but no one wants to admit to this. I usually get about 9 thousand miles on street /track tires like Michelin Power Ones or Bt-003. i got about 7000 once. That was my lowest mileage tire ever.

I'm going to have to push my bike out to Montana pretty soon. Schools almost out. Got new job, BTW. Teaching. About another week left and I'm broke again. Good time to come out to visit my old pal, Grn.

Thank you rook, i know most people get at least 7000 miles, that's why it is so hard to believe his mileage report. Never seen that in over 25 years workin and riding bikes......expect true race bikes of course. And yes green their was red gen 1 but i thougt it was the red and flat black limited edition one.

Most I ever got out of a rear on my 14 was 2200 miles, least, I was into the wear bars at 1200 miles on a BT-016 Pro, these things eat tires if you hammer on 'em.

Just curious what kind of pressure you guys running in your rear tire?

When I got my bike 4 years ago, the rear was filled to 36 psi, and the wear created a flat spot on top which made taking corners unpredictable. For the past year, I've reduced pressure to 30 psi, and the tire is round and looks new after 3K miles. It is a Micheline Pilot Road II and the bike is stable in turns.

Tried running 36 psi on the front, and took it back down to 30 psi immediately because the steering felt completely foreign to me. Maybe its whatever the rider feels comfortable with. I have reduced the weight of my bike which plays a role.

Now that weather is warming up, there might be a need to raise pressure to keep it safe. IDK, this seems to work for me.

In the twisties I run 38 F and 38 R with BT-016 Pros on my Gen 1 ZX14, seems like the best combination of grip and liveliness for my weight of 200 lbs. These bikes are heavy and you can ding a rim running too low pressure, ask me how I know. At the end of the day you run what feels comfortable to you.
