I'll travel 10,000 miles and trailer my bike if I absolutely have to for another meet and greet!

You are right on the mark with the Meet & Greet idea with the 1st one we had we were 13 ZX14 & ZX14r's strong it was a site to be seen you really never see more then 3 big cc bikes running together, as Wfozx14 an Smatlock42 can attest to, it was a good time had by all!!

Back in 2013 I tried to set things in motion and start a conversation on our next Meet & Greet as well as the location though I was not around for much of the conversation but it looks like to me that the time & location is the hardest thing to nail down. I have spoken to kept in touch with most of everybody who made the 1st M&G. I spoke to Kofla last night and put me on to the start up of the new conversation on the 2nd Annual M&G. After reading over the other threads what we need is someone to start it up an make it happen more like a Hump or Jump type of deal so here is what I propose!

Everybody start there own Meet up spot in there area an see how many people will commit to meeting up then we start putting them together an before you know it we will have the biggest ZX14 M&G ever! Some people are going to have to take the lead in there areas an come up with a date, time & a spot.

I can/will take the lead on the Upstate NY Meet up spot since we already have I a meet up spot that most of us know an have no problem getting too. It's Bear Mountain, Perkins Memorial Drive, New York 10928

I say that who ever is going to be taking the lead in there area start threads over in the in the Rides, Rallies and Meetup Events an go form there make your own dates that work for your group. I'm going to put it out there starting with The Upstate NY Meet Group (that's the name till we find a better one)that we will go an meet up with another group once we can find a group/place to visit or better yet a place to meet in the middle (so we all can travel further an enjoy the ride)

Kofla, Like I told you your not stepping on my toes at all! It's not my event just taking lead in my area to help in making it happen. Everybody's help an participation is needed & wanted cause without it I will be sitting up at Bear Mt. by myself!!

I feel that this is a good idea an we will see who's really wanting to come out an join the group or is it just talk!

Look by no means am I calling anybody out cause nobody is more busier than me and I understand how life can get in the way but if you want to make it happen you will! Cause there have been a lot of comments with no follow-through it could be cause nobody want to step on anybody's toes I don't know????

The season is coming a pond us so let make it happen!!!

Kofla, I'm going to try an make the 45 Orient Express motorcycle US nationals it sounds like a good weekend trip!!

Thanks for organizing this run and rekindling the spirit of a 14 meet and greet. I can see a list of good blokes already indicating interest. There may be even one or two I'm dying to meet. I look forward to hearing more. The closer sir the better!

So I am wondering: are there two meetings? One in the first week of August at Bear Mtn and another the first week of September in Philly?

Are these both designated as National/ International meetings or is one of them a designated regional meeting? Both are in the northeast of course and very near each other.

Not that there is an issue with that......two chances to meet a month apart may be conducive to more participation; but which one will have the most attendees and most from outside the NE region?

Will you have a posted sign up list for each going between then and now to test attendance?

Could both of these possible 'events' be posted in one thread perhaps? maybe a special category for just "ZX-14 rallies" as opposed to the more general two categories currently existing of "meets, rallies" and 'group rides".

Just thinking that if it is important, it should have its own category and maybe the other two existing categories could be reduced and grouped as one?

As it is now; there seems to be three (3) separate areas where these announcements/organized efforts either are or could be posted and that would seem to dilute the issue of getting ZX-14 riders together. Whats your thoughts?

Oh, and yah, its page two here in this "Gathering" post in the General ZX-14 area.

Paul, we should setup a third get together in the Midwest set for earlier in the summer. What you think?

Missouri might make for a good central location for the Midwest and south to meet up?

I have and still am a member of a very active FJR forum. They organize rallies based on geography: NE, SE, MW, SW, etc. Typically one member from the area stepped up, took a poll and set the location and dates. It doesn't take a whole lot of planning - contact a hotel a block out some rooms at a negotiated rate, plan out some routes, places to eat, etc and go out riding. Beer and BS in the parking lot after riding all day.

Actually, Danno just posted one up back in February for a gathering taking place next weekend that I'm going on. The location in Northern AR has some of the best roads in the country but it didn't spark a whole lot of interest on this site. I thought about organizing a rally in Southern MO or Northern AR for the Midwest folks until I saw Danno's post. I may still get one together this fall if there is interest.

Joe, hope all is well with you and the rest of the gang!
I'll be at the Bear Meet this year. Possibly with a couple of other 14 riders, too!

I'd like to possibly arrange a meet in the Allegheny Mountains, PA some time this summer as well. Some very good riding there!

I'll be at the Dragon in mid July with Fazer, and possibly AJS, and a bunch of other non 14's. If anyone is going down the same week, message me and maybe we can arrange a meet.

If you need me to help with anything, just message me and I'll be happy to help!
