Maggie Valley, N.C.
01/16/12 8:29 AM

I am planning a trip to Maggie Valley, N.C. for 6/13-6/17. This will be with a wide assortment of bikes, and anyone is welcome. There will be a group leaving from the Raleigh, N.C. area, and we would love to have some others join in. As it stands, I will be on the M109, but if I can get some others on sportbikes to go, I will take the 14 instead. If you are interested in going, meeting up, or just would like more info., please let me know. There will be a couple of groups going out on each day. Some will be going at a slower rate, and enjoying the scenery, and others will be riding more "aggressively".

Not yet. We will be staying at The Valley Inn in Maggie Valley NC. Right now, they are listed as being closed for the winter. I will be checking to see when they will open up again. Once they are open, I will post up more info.
This is actually a pre-Mid-Atlantic meet for the M109R group, but there is always a large assortment. The actual M109R meet is held the following week in Virginia. People come from Texas to Canada for this.

We went up to Maggie Valley and had a "ball" Rode everywhere from N.C., to S.C., to Tenn., and Va. I logged on a total of 1175 miles. One of the rides had a total of 25 bikes. 20 of them were nines, 2 Concours 14's, 2 ninja's, and 1 meanstreak. Needless to say, we did some spirited riding. Mazing how low you can lean a nine when needed. One of our guys (with a 300 on the rear), wore out half his foot peg, and then near the end of a run, his peg hit a reflector and broke off. We found out that a donated rear peg from a concours would work, and the rear from another 109 wouldn't. After a quick replacement, we were at it again.

I know this is a post from last year, but we are going again. We will be in Maggie Valley, N.C. from 6/13-6/16. If anyone will be in the area, post up or send me a pm, and I will get you my phone number. I will be on the zzr this year, and would love to have other sportbikes to ride with.

Well, I servived the dragon another year. I also went down hwy 28 to Highlands for the first time. I must say, the area is beautiful. I will be trying to get the wife out to that area when I go to Gatlinburg in July. Wish I had more pictures, but I was having too much fun riding.
