Hope I like it as much as the busa's Supercorsas

Probably best bet for the street.

The compound is supposed to be like the same compound as the Diablo Supercorsa V2 SP

I'm guessing you went with the 200

Will be interesting to hear how you liked them

I was looking at them for track days and was hoping they would last a little longer
then the Supercorsa which I'm getting around 300 miles on a set. "Love" the Supercorsa's just
don't last very long.

300 miles on a set

You must mean 300 track miles?? LOL--I believe I have about 2000 on the busa's Supercorsas and it is just now starting to look a little bit flattened off across the center. SE Wisconsin to Upper Michigan is a lot different than Phoenix though. Lots of cool weather and easy to get out of practice over the winters. Long relearning period at the start of each season.

I'm guessing you went with the 200

Yes. 200/55 is the only size STG had other than the 180/55 which I believe is usually for a 600 cc bike.

I'll let you know what I think. From the customer reviews I read, the Diablo Pro sounds as though it behaves like the Diablo Supercorsa. Good grip after it warms up for about 1 lap, some controlled sliding of the rear if your hard on the throttle. I've read the front Diablo pro feels a little unstable under hard breaking when inflated to suggested track riding psi.

Got my Diablo Superbike Pros and ....I know I'm not one who changes tires real often but sure seems to me this rear is pretty much taller than what I recall others being. It seems to dwarf the front tire. The rear is 2" taller than the front without being installed and inflated. Hope it fits in the front of the swing arm.

These are the Diablo superbike Pros on the scale. I also weighed my Supercorsas last year. The 120/70 Diablo Superbike Pro is the exact same weight to the .0 oz. as the 120/70 Diablo Supercorsa.

The Superbike Pro 200/55 is just shy of 1 lb heavier than the Supercorsa 190/55.

The Dunlop Q2s I had on the 14 were about one pound heavier for the front and the 190/55 rear Q2 was 3/4 pounds heavier.

The Diablo slicks go on soon.

I get about 8000 miles on a rear tire running it until it is DEAD. 6000 was previously the least I ever got. The Diablo Supercorsas I have on the busa now have the title as shortest lived tire on Rook's bike. 4000 miles and they are at the wear bars about halfway between center and edge. There are no wear bars dead center (there are no sipes on center with this tire) but I can feel the flat spot. Not too visible. I am using and getting a lot of side wear with this tire more than usual and that's fine with me. I think they have another couple thousand miles but then they're cooked. I expect no better with the Super Pros. If you normally get 3000 miles, I bet these tires will only give you a thou.

Got the Supercorsa Pros on and I'm headed out for a ride. I'll post my opinions.

As you can see, there was not a lot of space between the swingarm and the 200/55 rear tire. My axle adjusters are set on 2 and a half marks. I don't recall how this compares with the clearance of the 190.55s i have used but hose were also pretty close.

Thanks, guys. It's getting closer to what I always dreamed it would be. Finish off the NOS with electronics and engine build, then I think I will call it done. --I think--

The new tires ran great on the street and it's just 70° F here today. I didn't push them hard yet. The taller profile and increased flickability takes some getting used to in more technical corners. In the more predictable situations, I was able to focus on the how the tires felt without being distracted by overall maintaining control of the bike. I trusted these tires in a lean more than my old tires. There were no issues with dust or low tire temps. The larger contact patch grips a little stronger and the bike tips in with less effort than a 190/55 as we might expect. As long as it is not raining, these tires are a noticeable step up in sport riding from the Supercorsas with 190/55 rear. I will have to try a set of ordinary street tires to get a real comparison but I'm calling these my favs for now. I don't know how other slicks will perform on the street but these were awesome. I wouldn't trust them in anything but 70°+ weather on dry, clean roads. Probably would not be my choice for fall or early spring where the roads are cold and dirty. They do have a sticker that says not to use them in temps below 41 F.

My "Bike" should have that sticker on it.

We be interesting to here a little more as the they get a few heat cycles and miles on them.

Fill us in.

Yep, I'll keep you posted. As was brought up at the beginning of this thread, the 41° F admonition was concerning durability of the carcass in cold temps. It is not designed to flex when cold and if it can't flex, it could break. There's your cold tear. I'm saving these for warm to hot weather conditions only. I will update with longterm assessments as time goes on. We're supposed to have 80's getting close to 90° by Sunday. I will be dropping the pressure and seeing how far I can wear them out to the edges. Still have 1" chicken strips after today.

The facile turn in is real. I would describe the sensation as being like you tip the bike in to the right and it feels like the tail is moving out to the left--sort of like the bike is pivoting at the center rather than turning with the rear following the front. It's not drifting but the rear end does not feel the same as it did with a lower tire. I can definitely feel that when I weave the bike back and forth quickly. Also the grip. I'm easy on the throttle in corners but I did happen to hit a bump in the road coming out of a corner. I was unable to see the bump because of the alternating mid day sun and deep shadows but I sure felt it. Both tires came off the ground in a lean but the bike stayed planted when it touched down. Also, in straight line acceleration, it feels like the tire grabbing the road with claws. I don't see how it could be the small amount of extra rubber that the slick has over the modestly siped Supercorsa but it could be that the lack of sipes keeps the compound more rigid instead of stretching under the torque. If the rpm is up into midrange, I'm getting pulled back over the seat even with 1/4 throttle in second and third gear.

About 200 miles on the new tires. Still round. I do some weaving on the highway to keep them from flattening off in the middle. Chicken strips cut to about a half inch which is the same as I had with the 190/55. I sure do like that tippy rear end.

I'm sure if you were within an inch of Rook's bike, and you had a extremely powerful magnifying glass, you could probably find a single spec of dirt somewhere on his bike.

Frankly I don't even know how he rides it any more. If you've not seen the detail work he did on the engine you've only see half of it.

It's close to flawless. Somehow, that has to help keep me from pushing too hard. That's why the perfect track bike would be a crusty old turd.

I dropped the psi to 32 from 35 front and rear. Still no feeling of tire bending when I corner but definitely starting to feel the tire give when I go over bumps. I don't like that for some reason. I guess I'm used to bouncing off bumps. Maybe slightly diminished turn in but still feels very good.

Still can't get the chicken strips less than a half inch but i will continue to try.

Another 200 miles with a good amount of highway and still can't feel a definite flat spot on the center. Looks like there is plenty of tread left based on the wear dimples.

It was muggy today and roads were slightly damp. Had a very brief sun shower. Just enough to make the pavement look darker than when it's dry. I felt the rear slipping one time and that was my warning. Not safe for sport riding unless it's quite dry.

I take Rob's tippy rear end before I take yours Rook. But I do like how my 190/55 feels. So maybe I will think about the 200/55 next tire.

You might need to go someplace where you can hang a knee out and push a little harder that the streets.
