Fighting Louisiana heat
08/03/12 11:33 PM

Just installed the jet-hot coated headers, added the 2nd fan, and changed the coolant to Engine Ice...it was 97 yesterday as I rode it to work.. When the fans come on...she cools!!

Very nice osmax12!
Did you jet-coat your 2010 headers?
If so, did you only coat the outside or gut the cat and coat inside also?
Where did I you get the jet-coat done and how much?
Sorry for all the questions, I ride an 09. I live in Southeast Texas about 3.5 hours from you, it was 99 yesterday on the ride home from work. What I am most interested in is eliminating the heat coming off the bike at my shins and knees. Just curious if you noticed any difference in that area with the jet-coat. I havn't had any overheating problems although through town it stays 1 bar from max until I get out of the stop & go then it's a litte above mid level.

Wuz up- I'm in Galveston this wknd! But anyway, I didn't think about gutting the cat out until the headers were on the way back from Jet-Hot in Oklahoma. I bought the header off EBay for $60 and sent it off to Jet-hot. So only the outside is coated. I think it cost about $230-$250. I've only rode it twice (going and coming from work), so I can't really tell about the ankle-burning yet, but I'll keep you updated when I get back home Sunday. The fans made a big difference with the temps in town, though..

Cool. I got a set of cat less 06's that I was considering Jet-coating inside and out. Keep me posted. Don't have too much fun in Galveston!
