I just added a DynoJet ignition module to my bike. I got it from Ivan along with a map to maximize ignition performance. From the first test run I've had a glitch...
At 6000 RPM and at 7000 RPM I get a warning light and it says FI error on the readout. It only lasts till 6200 and 7200 RPMs as I accelerate. The code doesn't stay around long enough to call it up in the self diagnosis mode, and I can't determine what the code would be. Changing maps has no effect. I've checked and cleaned every connection.
DynoJet says without the code they can't help, other than if I mail it to them.
Ivan keeps saying he wants to help but so far his only suggestion was to check the ground connection to the frame. One reason I decided to make this upgrade is having the impression that I'd get good tech support from Ivan. But even with all his knowlege of the system he has had no suggestions as to how to troubleshoot it!
The only thing that corrects the glitch is to remove the ignition module from the system.
Any suggestion which leads to a cure will receive a BIG Attaboy from me.
Removed GPS.
