Has anyone modified the box under the seat and how so, mine keeps getting the cover torn off at the hinge line because of the bouncing around of the stuff inside and the not so perfect roads here in NY city

Mine kept coming open so I did the same thing I did on the BMW GS I had before the ZX. I glued a semi-dense piece of foam to the lid so the seat base would apply some pressure and hold it closed...........

I took mine completly out. The empty space should give me enough room for a MINI fuse block, Alarm module and the base for my LED under bike lights.
The tool kit will be kept in my Tail Bag.

That's what I originally did, put a rag on top of the stuff I kept inside to keep it shut, except this time the tab stayed locked and it tore at the hinge line and everything was scattered all over the place...I usually like to keep a couple allens and a disk lock in mine in case I have a dead battery and need to pull panels...
