Phone mount gen 1
07/04/24 1:32 PM

I have been wanting a phone mount for many years, the obstacle is that I have a steering damper mounted. I have not seen any made that would accommodate that. Which one would be recommended to start with in attempt to mock up a new mounting spot. 2006 zx14 had her since day one. Thank you for any recommendations.

If I hand you a tube of Amazing Goop Glue and said 'have at it,' I'd be done before you could think up 1 or a 100 mounting points. Here at Meguyveer's Corner, there is no place safe for said mounts.

Not one bolt or nut used. Been mounting shit on the 2006 since day one. Still haven't quit on the 2017. Someplace, somewhere is goop glue found mounting something on the my 14.

You gotta try thishit. Also known as E6000.

I had a tube steering dampener on my 08 and that allowed me to use the steering stem hole for a mount.

Look at the stuff made by Techmount. You might need to replace a bar end weight with a bung such as those used to install bar end mirrors.

If you want a quick and dirty phone holder, place some strips of painters tape on your fuel tank cover and adhere a patch of light duty velcro. The tape will stick but when you want to get rid of it, you just rip the tape up. I attached a laptop to my bike that way. I had a safety tether but I never needed it even doing triple digits.
