Woohoo!!!!! Got my PCV in today, $281 off ebay! So excited! Looking for places to tune it next weekend around El Paso/Las Cruces area...I think my NO Shotgun stuff is contributing to my excitement...only a little, though! haha

I see from your signature description, you've got a full Yoshimura exhaust, as well. With the PCV and the proper map, it should pull like a freight train.

Do you have the YOshi R55 stainless system?

Yep, got the R55, powdercoated midpipe and muffler black with the high heat powder (left the tip polished). Probably should have gone ceramic, but I was cheap and it only cost me $60 for the exhaust, rear pegs and heel guards to coat. I'll be calling tuners all week, hope to get over 200hp on at least one run...it had plenty left after 186 Saturday, so a 200hp bike that goes over 200mph is good enough for me!

Maybe it's just me, but my PCV was a b!tch to put on...had a hard time disconnecting the big gray plug, then disconnecting the smaller plug. Soldered the blue wire to the green one, didn't trust that connecter thing. Was pretty straightforward, just those damn plugs took a while to work out. Got my throttlemeisters shimmed and set too, I'll try them out tomorrow. Tired as hell...

The main wiring harness is a bitch. Just make sure you get the plugs clicked back together.

Bazzaz was more even work to install on my busa. No main wiring harness interface but you have to plug inline at each of the injectors. Prolly a bit easier to install on the ZX-14 than the busa. I still think PC5 is the way to go on a ZX-14. Just more common and no less effective. You can get a TC add on with Bazzaz however. Power Commander should make that too.

Used lots of zip ties, located the unit along the upper left fairing just under the left dashboard...should be able to get to it fairly easily by removing the 3 screws. Trying to set up a tune down in El Paso this Friday.

Gonna put mine in myself, as well. Will follow the directions and Rook's how tos, and I should be fine.

Runr, What about the amount of overall power/power delivery difference you feel with the PCV as opposed to without?

*a 200hp bike that goes over 200mph is good enough for me*

Yes, I sure I hope I don't get so power hungry that a 200 HP street bike is still not enough for me. Someone slap the hell outta me if I ever get to where I want more than 200 HP on the street.

haha, I know! Still waiting on the tune...called Speed Factory down in El Paso, they keep not replying to me. Called 8 times, left many voicemails, texted when they told me to text them, visited yesterday (90 min drive), still waiting on them to call/text back. Getting frustrated. Don't have too many options for bike tuning within reasonable distance out here.

Got the tune yesterday through Viva Motorsports in El Paso, only dyno within 300 miles of Alamogordo. $300, took 14 runs, tech was pretty good at his job. 186.96 was highest, last 5 runs were in the 186's. At 3863 ft, comes out to around 215hp at sea level (either using DynoJet's 4%/1K ft or .88 Bar)... Got the A/F ratio almost completely flat around 13, bike was running very lean originally. Will post up the runs once they email them to me. 95-105 degrees, 4% humidity, done in a dusty wooden shed out back of the dealer (with little to no ventilation). Someone could make a killing around here with a DynoTrailer, thinking about investing in one and hitting up all the military around here...

I am getting excited as I think I just successfully loaded the map into my PCV just now. Looking forward to rolling up the sleeves and starting the exhaust and PCV install this weekend. May even start on Thanksgiving afternoon, given how warm its supposed to be.

YEAH!

Got the PCV installed. It went pretty quickly and was not too much of a hassle.
I merely downloaded the PCV program off of the software. Then I downloaded my choice of three maps I was sent from Brock's for being a buyer of his exhaust.
And wtih the PCV module plugged in to the computer via the included USB cable, you just have to choose then install the specific map into the module. Map successfully Written is what I think it says.

Pretty straightforward.

Putting it on the bike was not too bad either. Being new to these modern bikes, I followed the directions closely (closely, which I should have done on teh fairing removal, right? LOL) and took my time to make sure I got the right wire connected from the gear position sensor clip, connected to the right wire from the PCV. Also, I was taking extra care in ensuring I got the right plug for the crank speed sensor. THis rascal was hiding, taped to the wiring harness up under one of the inner throttle bodies. But other than that its just plugging in the main connector plug and grounding the PCV to your main ground bolt on the right side.

I initially dreaded doing this myself, but it went well. Rather enjoyable, too. All the software and map use made me, orinally an old fashioned carburetor guy, feel up to date with the latest technology. Fuel injection is complacted and can be very expensive. That is the more memorable thing I've learned thus far.

CONgrats!! Before you get all wrapped up in other mods, testing mapps and tuning is something I would recommend looking into.

Been a while since I installed my PCV on my 08. All it is is an inline connection of the main wiring harness and then you hook up a ground wire. The main wiring harness is insanely difficult to pull apart. There should be a special tool made for that.
