I decided to have the wheels black chromed. Got them back today.
The little white specs are dust like particles from shipping. They wiped right off.

Does look very nice. If you didn't call them black, i would have assumed they were ordinary chrome. The metal color looks somewhat darker than white metal when compared to your exhaust and other unpainted parts. The color dif between ordinary chrome wheels and yours is probably a nuance but I bet if you are a chrome wheel fan, it makes all the dif in the world.

Cost....$650. Regular chrome would have been $500.
I went back and forth between regular chrome and the black. I had never seen black chrome before. I went with the black because I wanted the shine of chrome but not the flashy silver color of it. I thought it might be too much. I didn't want to have to polish the bolts, heel plates to get everything to tie in. The black chrome, in my opinion, looks like regular chrome but tinted to a darker color. Kind of takes away the pop of chrome. Not quite as flashy which is what I am looking for. Overall, I am happy with the out come.

Having chrome rims myself, the black chrome really stands out!! Good job
Would like to know if you had any problems with chrome in the bearing seat areas.

Doug,
I don't know if there were any problems. I didn't do the job myself. I was having some work done on the bike and I had the shop take care of the wheels at the same time. I would have to say there were no problems because it only took about 2 hours or so for the mechanic to get everything back together. Maybe I was lucky.

Those are really nice. I have thought about the black chrome myself. I wish you would have contacted me though. I would have paid all the shipping for your black ones and given you my brand new silver ones to get chromed.
