And did he see you coming with the high beam on no less? No. So, isn't the state/fed headlight beam on all the time a fucking joke? I had two cops pull me over for a headlight not being on. The cop's quote was, "That headlight is for the other guy, not you." I wasn't going to argue, plus they couldn't issue a 'fix it' ticket being it works. And it was so in your face when I turned the key on and they see a light come on telling me about the light coming on with the key. Pulled me over for nothing and my safety?
1. 'Officer Down'... Let's move away from Gail and her flowers for the rose pee raid for this 'BRAKING NEWS.'We have an officer down and the ABC heli is seeing the bike sitting on its side, the motor officer is being attended to, the headlight is on, someone turn the key off!
On top of your surrounding there, Vic. Stay pissed. Not that you're a model biker offering advice to a cager having poor driving habits like keep looking both ways to the bitter end. Rather, you keep getting that ego in the way.

"nothing but NORMAL ROAD HAZARDS"...got THAT right Bad;)Had she just WAITED 5 more seconds...THIS would have never been;)I was doing 25 in a 25.I had nowhere to go to the right...(I couldn't chance stopping...had to gas it a tad to beat her to the very possible crash)trucks were parked all along there so I couldn't swerve to let her in and hit me..and she WOULD have)...I'm thinkin..WTF?You pull this deal when a couple o' seconds longer you'd have had ALL the lane to yerself?(you can see there...no one to the rear). My response(best I could do at the time);)

Sorry this isn't the same thing. I had that happen Friday labor day weekend. I never posted anything about that here. Yes, what you're showing is not too uncommon. In fact, your example is what I was talking about in the video about the truck.
In this case, if I had not slammed on the brakes I would've impacted this guys car. I locked the rear tire, you can barely hear this in the video. Not the same thing. If this stuff is happening normally to you, you need to take MSF.

"If this stuff is happening normally to you, you need to take MSF"...I'm trying to 'understand' your last response there VicMan...'I' need to take an MSF course...the cage driver did nothing wrong?...Is THAT what you're saying?LOL.But 'I' need that course?....interesting.BTW...took that course way back in 1998.Still didn't change these driver's habitsLOL!Maybe THEY ought ta take it...whattaya think?
"Sorry this isn't the same thing"...no?How so my man...how so.You slammed the breaks...I blipped the throttle to escape.REMEMBER...25 mph tops(me) when she pulled out 'trying' to beat me into the lane...let's not forget(just as in your case)she had ALL THE TIME in the world to simply wait till I passed by...Maybe I should take yer advice and re take that MSF course;)
I'll add this...that bank driveway she was pulling out from...she didn't stop at all to make that turn...so she WAS trying to beat me into the THRU TRAFFIC lane. She saw me coming....no excuse.

I had my own today. Maybe I will post a vid tomorrow. No big deal. Some guy just decides to turn in front of me from a stop sign. I knew he was going to do it. One thing I should have learned by now is not to get close to them to teach them a lesson. I had some crazy $%^( driving in a bicycle lane move right into my lane. She hit my car. They WILL hit you. Don't think they won't. Some people are that ^%%$#ing dumb. I followed her to a nearby college parking lot. I asked if she wanted to call the police. She said I hit her. It didn't occur to me at the time but I should have told her I work for the Milwaukee Police Dept. IDK if that would have helped. We both left the scene of the accident. I thought it better for insurance and police involvement to just let bygones be bygones. Last I ever heard of it.

Ya see Vic...I get put in these little deals to guage how I'm responding with my emotions. Was I angry?Nope...I wasn't.Do I hate cages? No,I don't.Do I want to pull em over and tell em a blue streak?Nope. This will happen to EVERY guy or gal riding at sometime or another. Why ruin a ride by yelling at someone and being pissed the rest of the day?Not me.It always comes back around;)
"I locked the rear tire"...learned that in yer MSF course didja?LOL!!!...be THANKFUL you weren't riding a HARLEY my friend...think about itLOL!

Every body here that's totalled a bike raise your hand. I'm not raising mine
And they teach skidding the rear tire in MSF...so
Are you sure you took MSF? Hmm you've totalled a bike. You're oblivious to identifying threats because this happens to you all the time, and you don't know that MSF teaches how to deal with skidding the rear tire....
I only laid into him because I was hoping it would actually have some impact and he might remember to look out for motorcycles the rest of the day. If you listen to my statements to him, it should be pretty obvious. It's not like I was yelling. As far as calling caged idiots cagers...go ahead. I'm not quite that PC. In trucking we called them caged idiots. But then, you've never held a class A CDL so there's quite a bit about operating motor vehicles that I know, that you don't buddy boy!

I had this happen today too, after the issue I posted the video about. I was east on a 4 lane road. This younger gal turned left and went to the outside lane. I was at her bumper when she decided for some reason she needed on the inside lane which she just crossed to get into the lane she was in! At any rate, she started to encroach on my lane, about 1/3rd into my lane she finally looked and saw I was there. But I had already slowed down and let her in. It was stupid, but just the kind of stuff people deal with all the time.
If you're frequently riding in people's blind spots, you need to take MSF. I agree, riding in blind spots is a bonehead stunt.

"Every body here that's totalled a bike raise your hand"...I'm in;).Not only have I totalled a couple...I've lived to tell the tale...now...how many can say THATLOL!!!
"because this happens to you all the time, and you don't know that MSF teaches how to deal with skidding the rear tire...."..You mean,my ABS is failing me?
"You're oblivious to identifying threats"...well...there's always the POPO,as you see in that pic above...someone's watching out for me;)
"I was at her bumper"...nice...they see ya behind em much better that wayLOL!Personally...I never thought of doing that...was that day one of class,or two?I KNOW I went to BOTH days...??????
"If you're frequently riding in people's blind spots, you need to take MSF. I agree, riding in blind spots is a bonehead stunt"...another case of someone making a judgement call without knowing what happenedLOL...Love it!.Just to clarify here on that red van....she was tailing ME and decided to pass(55 zone...I'm doing 62)(remember...speedos off by 3 mph))only to swerve back in front of me AND...I reiterate...AND..hit her brakes not 30 feet ahead of me.Not to mention...she wasn't braking to make any right hand turn...there are none right thereLOL!!Hence...enter player #3...with those purty flashing lamps atop that vehicle...ah...the joys of being STUPID!!!LOL!
You're disappointing me Vic...surely with your ability to "see the situation"...who's in their lane, and who ISN'T...does that look like I'm in the blind spot?Or an errant driver sweeping back into MY lane(at the time).
How about this...she speeds up to pass(don't forget...the left lane was her driving lane...free and clear, could have passed me safely and easily from her lane),then swerves into an occupied lane(me)...THEN...hits her brakes. Why PASS in the first place just to slow down ahead of someone else?...Make sense?MSF...get a lane ready for meLOL!!!
BTW...didja notice the nice pretty 'bodywork' on her nice cared for Van?(especially that right turn lens)...God knows how many bikers may be layin in the ditch from her shennigansLOL!!!

In all fairness though...the DMV states.."most drivers either do not 'see' the motorcyclist OR they misjudge the speed of an oncoming motorcyclist"...longer I ride...the more this actually seems valid. Not 'seeing' a biker is not uncommon for people that don't have any thoughts about bikers when they're concentrating on driving. Can't condemn em for that..IMO.Getting angry and throwing angry words at em just makes it worse...since to them...they 'didn't have a clue'.See what I'm sayin? If it's intentional...then that's VERY different...very.
Probably you drive away...and they're thinkin.."fuckin asshole biker...I didn't mean to do that".Think that helps anything? Not in my book it doesn't.Just confirms(to them)...ALL bikers are dicks.

If he remembers bikers are dicks at least he'll remember there are bikers. Apparently he forgot. If he wants to go all biker vigilante, that's a whole other issue. You can worry about offending people, I'm worried about ending up in the morgue, or even the hospital.
Why didn't you pull over behind the cop and ask him to give the nice minivan driver a break? Since you're all about biker good-will, it was an opportunity for you to show how compassionate bikers are. You could've told the officer "Sir, it's OK. I bet they didn't even see me." The magic words of the caged idiot. But you didn't do this did you?
I guarantee you were personally celebrating when the cop pulled them over. You thought it's about time someone sees one of these idiots driving like this. I wouldn't be surprised if you were shouting in your helmet. LOL at the idea you started crying thinking how unfortunate they are being pulled over and maybe even ticketed. Maybe if that person had run into you and knocked you into a tree, you could've forgave them while you were in a body cast in the hospital, and drop any charges. Apparently, all they would have to say to you is the magic words, "I didn't even see you."
You should visit hospitals and morgues of motorcycle accident victims and tell them how innocent caged idiots are. You can preach to the families and the victims in their body cast that and tell them they should have compassion for the driver that ran into them because "they didn't even see them." You can tell them how really, in the caged idiots mind they really didn't do anything wrong because they didn't even really hit anything, bikers are a figment of imagination.
Maybe someday you'll get the opportunity to become the poster boy for biker good-will. Someone will knock you into a guard rail and you'll survive but in a wheelchair the rest of your life. But no, you won't be angry. You'll be understanding. Especially if the caged idiot, oh wait, as you insist cager says to you the magic words, "I didn't even see you."
I may be a dick. At least I'm not a hypocrite.
Not only have I totalled a couple
I think I see the dichotomy here. You see accidents as a badge of honor, something to brag to people about. I don't. Maybe you think it's cool to post pics of broken bones and road rash here and smashed up bikes. This way people you don't even know will think your a tough guy. When you get to five that doesn't make you an ace, more like an asshole. You probably suffer from depression and low self-esteem, and don't recognize your self-destructive nature. But just reading this, maybe you'll have a break through and realize this is why you think having totaled bikes is cool and something to brag about.
Only bikers that have died earn my respect. Because they weren't pussies and were pushing it hard enough to die, not just get some bs broken arm and a few pictures of a smashed up bike to tell stupid boring stories the rest of their life proving how tough you are. If you ain't dying, you ain't trying buddy.

"Only bikers that have died earn my respect"... . You handled the situation your way...I'm not condemning you for it...I'm sure you did make an impression. And I aint condemning you for being angry. And yes...I DID give a thumbs up to the POPO as I drove by.Truthfully...I wasn't angry in either case(or others)...I get it that people make mistakes. That's just me.Call me names if ya want...I'm happy. How 'bout you? From your previous posts around here...I'd guess you have a chip on yer shoulder...sa'll good...be safe.
Just read this..."Because they weren't pussies and were pushing it hard enough to die, not just get some bs broken arm and a few pictures of a smashed up bike to tell stupid boring stories the rest of their life proving how tough you are. Here's a thought...on Vic's headstone are the words inscribed forever.."He died pushing his bike to dangerous levels...and broke the law and endangered everyone else just to prove it...on the street;) "
Wonder if Beanman feels like a stud?Thank God he didn't get killed.
"you think having totaled bikes is cool and something to brag about"...well,since you seem to be all into the thinking of others here, and why they do what they do...how about this....these are YOUR ideas about others...not theirs.Maybe that's how YOU feel it should be...what your projecting onto everyone else;)

To Vicman...you've seen a video of my (sometimes)riding ways.If anything...they're a lesson in what NOT to do on the street. If a cage pulls out in front of me thinking I'm doing the speed limit when I'm actually doing triple digits...and we wreck...who's fault would THAT be?I can see it now..."He pushed to the limit, and died Proudly.Meanwhile...his victims suffered continuosly having lost their precious cargo of children".Sound like something to be 'proud'of?
Guys here are VERY correct.."take it to the track"...I'm the first one that needs to sign up...tell ya that.

You misunderstand the point about pussies. That's your mantra not mine. If I never have a bike accident, I'll be all the more glad. If I do, I certainly won't consider it some badge of honor or proof of how tough I am. That's what pussies do. That's why I only respect bad ass mofos that die in wrecks. Pussies just want to show some pictures and shit and brag about wadding up a couple bikes. You're either going for it or you're not. You...you're not. Just really had what was tantamount to a couple of mistakes a good rider would've pulled through.
It's really easy to go out, fuck up like an imbecile and wreck. It's nothing to brag about.

I've got my R&D rolling yesterday and the front end greases off the tar and I'm sliding with a fast wash of the front end. In other words the road was so hot, the tar would move and look at this guy heading into that snake pit of a mess of tar and then the tar lines clean up as the cameraman pulls over.
Grn and I have the same attitude. 3 events per day and you just brake for them or watch their antics and you take off as if nothing happened: it goes with the territory. If I give the body language of 'what gives?' and the hand goes back on the bars, that's about it for the communication.
I hacked the bike and made a wire harness too close to the throttle bell crank and it slipped into that opening and kept the throttle open. All I remember was the front end coming up and I was down on the ground that fast and woke up sliding. No time to react. I saw 93 mph as I exited the on ramp and that's all I remember, that, and watched the bike spark down the road [waking up] as my skin started burning off at the same time.
The reason why you don't go thru bikes is that you are not as gammy as Grn or me. 120/140mph sweepers is Grn's game. You are too cautious, Vic. I want to see you go thru that area @70mph like you said. AVERAGE! LOL
Now, you newbie, you need to practice your lines and throttle app. I feel sorry for that semi's transmission you shift the same way with the 14. Licensed to grind me a pound. Listen to how sloppy your shifts are. Look at how you are all over that line is where is the line? I had to speed mine up so I see where I'm going and how sloppy my shifts are? I want to see what I'm doing at speed more or less. Speed your video up and hear the throttle/trans clang. Maybe you'll improve some.
If you are saying this is the 'cat's meow' as to me watching you take a line ['listen up newbie?'] and that throttle signal, I don't see you coming out of corners squirting the tires, and where is your "out" being in the middle of the road or away from them more? See how close you are to a car and where I am at. You see me near the cars me seeing them way before they see me? I already figured out another line without lifting. Yeah, lift for the guys working and I can't see around the corner and wouldn't you guess of all the places to deer eye is to collect those guys with the car coming at me, veers off on them? Know when to fold them you go playing the odds in traffic.
Vic, you used your back brakes to stop. Want me to pull my rear pads after 8k? You shoulda seen them at 30k with the last 14... Like looking at a brand new set LOL heehehehehe. Like I said Vic, you are not there in the big top in the mechanical, nor the riding ability. Just your average JoeA kind of level/experience. Kind of a humbling experience we go head to head in lines alone.
Home he don't play wit the rear brakes. Sure wish I kept all those vids and photos, but wiped them out who cares. Had this long skid mark with the front brakes: she darted out of the parking lot. Got off the bike to see it for my own eyes. That's how conditioned I am. You, squidly, would have kept going with the rears. So much for the logic your instructions are OK to use the rear? No wonder I don't need a brushing up I hear that shit.
Vic's Ride? Look at your vid again, Vic. @ 3:50 to 3:59, that's you and your 10 seconds of one line from beginning to end @ 70mph think, Vic. You'd be in the other lane as a 'statistical seat cover.'

believe it or not some people can be looking right at you and still don't see you...did you notice the driver realized he made a mistake by putting up his hand, things like that happens and it does piss us off and can even hurt us bad. You did great by avoiding a bad situation which is good on your part. it will happen over and over because sometimes the human mind does not compute at times and on that day you was sharper then he was....think GOD, count your blessing and enjoy riding
