i lurrrvve my zx, but as its up on a ramp at the moment getting new brakes and a general pampering...im having a whirlwind romance with this........

Bean, of course we love our 14's. It's like our old buddy Hub always said though, they're so bloody good and reliable that you just run out of things to talk about.

BTW, nice bike, I really like that new red, even purtier than the old Passion Red IMHO.

kruz I dont think the red is new probably Cos its in the gararge FUNNY thing about why I said this!!!! its because of owning and luven in the past A NEW(03CBR1100)then last 2.5yrs the 04CBR1100 pc3/dyno including dropping the rear to make her turn in alot quiker,2 months after riding my ZX14 I rode my bird in to sell her 45minutes away I absoloutly hated the last ride of her,yet before I had nothing but admiration for the (now) dated CBR1100XX SUPER B/B this topic over a ltr bike being for awisker in time anoys me because the only best replacement for the first """"hyp/sports""" ""tourer"" was the Busa who as someone so perfectly said only a"mother" could "love" or the outstanding ZX1400 HYPPER SONIC SPORTS >"TOURER"< TOURER TOURER TOURER YES A "TOURER" boy o boy the beemer sure revs high too hmmmmmmmm high wear/mantenance too !!!

They can keep their BEEEMMER...whatever it is.Listen...my bluebird has NEVER let me down on any ride.Best quality motorcycle I've ever owned,besides my no longer here zx12.Never had an oil leak(except the valve cover deal...which was EASILY corrected).And that's it.No breakdowns.No part failures.Nothun.Burns no oil.Needs "minimum"maintenence,most of which I can safely do myself.And more if I bought a front lift for er.(which I may eventually).If I bought a sync tool...I'd be doing that as well.Valves is the only thing I haven't really gone through with.When they were checked(at TWICE)the recommended mileage...they were as close as the factory settings.I NEVER worry that I'm gonna get stranded somewhere.Tires are killin me...but that's part of the deal with a badazz bike like ours.I'm not riding track....and (I need to remember that!)As far as getting to the areas to work on er...very simple procedures once I got the hang of how to do it.I don't think I've spent over 300.00 this past year for maintenence work(shop fees).Most likely way less.Only thing done not by me this passed year were...Tires.I don't have a clue about engine work,but virtually everything else,I can handle,and have.For a spaceship that'll rock from 0-190 in a heartbeat and run like a smooth iceskater,not bad.I'm keepin mine till I can't keep my balance anymore(that's the hope anyway)..

Been riding for 16 years and bought my ZX last July. You remember when you first started riding how it felt so great and it was all so new. Well this bike has brought back that feeling coming off a cruiser. I was looking at getting a sport tourer, but decided to buy this and some bags later and I haven't looked back. Changing the oil in the old girl tomorrow because I have ridden the wheels off of it. Did I say I love it!

had the same experience bean, was afraid to sell my 'bird until i was sure about the 14!
when i rode it after getting the 14, it just seemed so dated!! was still a bit sad to see it go tho!

its an absolute handful...especially in the wet!!
the handling is nothing short of phenomenal kruz!! if you get a chance, try get a spin on one, on anything but a straight road it would leave nearly all sportsbikes floundering!
i havent ridden anything which responds so well to the smallest of rider inputs, nor gives so much feedback.
you just start smiling from the second you move forward!

...now, if they were to stick the 1190 engine from the RC8 into it??? .........

DAMN my mate didin't turn up yesterday, the weather was so nice I thought he might go to his fav spot YES he did, he phoned up late and said steve im sorry cos I went up to Chistmas Tree Hill Road his fav spot, I new Thats were he probably went, the ZX is just to good not to ride now today my new seat Skin is also here to do when he brings my BIG RED ZED X HOME,

As the years get on I see more 14s around here. Busas are rae still but This year I've seen about 7 or eight 14 s out on the road. Had a guy pull up next to me on a black a couple weeks ago. Yesterday I saw a b/o headed N and then a silver headed south on the same road within two-three miles. The silver had a dealer plate and stock pipes. probably brand new.

My 14 has been made into an old mans cruiser so what I would LIKE is a cruise control for it.

THE ASSASSIN comsumes me lending me her power slicing through the wind carving up the any road I point her down.The growl of her voice calling me tell me how much I love her even that I need her.AT every stoplight my inner ego growing bigger and bigger as her fans shout their praise, they want her,but she is mine. Yea, they're definitely different, I like your red better, I call it "Spicy Red", almost like a cinnamon color.
