Riding Season
10/14/09 11:42 AM

Riding season has ground to a halt in Alberta as we are reaching record low temps and f'ing SNOW!!!!!! We barely had a summer and only got great weather in September the last day I rode was +32C or +90F and that was at the end of the month..... not even a week later the temps did not make the +'s...... Now the sky's have opened up and we have 4 inches of snow!!!!! And breaking record low temps!!!!! I need to move to Pheonix!!!! Our dollar is strong and almost par this might be the year to buy a nice condo in the Pheonix area!!!!

Anyone else getting crappy weather, or should I say early winter!!!! Blue how the weather in Montana??

Hey Fuzz-ya-raining here now-and some snow.Thinkin this is the end of riding for this year as well.Hopin to get ONE MORE RIDE here in a day or two-maybe.There was no fall-Summer went by way too fast.Changing over to Royal Purple 10/40 syn-would like to see how it does-BUT....probably end up puttin it in and then putting my baby to bed for her yearly sleep. You be careful up there-stay outta the ice and stuff!.Better to use discretion than push it.Good to hear from ya!!

We're looking for good riding weather this weekend in Western Colorado. Forecast is mostly sunny, highs in the mid 70's. Doesn't get much better than that <grin>. -bg

it's running in the 50's and 60's in Arkansas these days, but lots of rain....I fell like I'm living in Seattle. Good news, it's supposed to be sunny and 70's this weekend last time I checked, so at least one more good weekend ride.
Looks like early winter everywhere...should make for a fun Dec - Feb around here, if it even threatens to snow people loose their flippin' minds. If the weatherman called for snow Saturday I wouldn't be able to buy a loaf of bread or gallon of milk until next tuesday when the deliver truck comes in.

It didn't get out of the 50's the last few days here in NJ.
The forcast for the next 4 days is rain.
Below 60* is too cold for me.

They have been salting like crazy up here, and am still optimistic about Saturday!!! THe roads will have to be pretty dry, don't wanna be riding on salty wet roads!! I think if I do get out it will be to fill her up and give her a bath, change her oil, and put her under her cover for 6months!!!

hahaha no snowmobile!!! We don't actually get that much snow here.... it comes and then melts and then comes again then melts through the whole winter!!! You have to go to BC to get to the good snowmobiling spots!! I remember riding at Xmas time one year and it like +15C.... 6 months means more like 4months.... I am just bitter, I hate this time of year!!!!

Well, for those of us who are pretty much done riding for the winter (maybe a few good days left...) at least there is something else to look forward to.... mods !

This coming weekend the trailer is coming out of the garage and around back, up on blocks, under a tarp for the winter. So I have floor space.

Soon enough, cowling off, prepare the new carbon fiber cowling (inner pads, headlamp assemblies etc.), HIDs, the loud-arse horns I've had in a box for 2 months, probably the LSL handlebar kit. Synthetic oil, Engine Ice, second fan kit. If the cold lasts long enough, I'll be able to get a new exhaust system etc. on too before I button it up for another riding season.

I almost look forward to not riding for about 4 months.

St. Louis has been mid 40's in the morning up to as high as 70 on the sunny days. Last couple weeks has been cloudy, overcast and real wet. There will still be those days when it isn't to bad to ride but then it becomes beemer time with the heated seat and grips.

Autotune going in along with Cannon. Also installing LCD datalogger.

Hope I can get the pipe on and map loaded before the season is done.

44 degrees and sunny here in Anchorage. Perfect riding weather. When I rode to work this morning it was a brisk 27 degrees. At this rate We will be able to ride until November.

I woke up this morning and I got myself a beer. The future is uncertain and the end is always near.
