Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum , just purchased a 2018 Zx14r , wanted to introduced myself , I am turning 49 this November and hoping not to be the oldest guy in here … wanted a Zx14r for a long time and pulled the trigger last week. Looking into adding M4 full GP exhaust and doing ecu flash ASAP …
Any recommendations on the ecu flash ?

You are definitely not the oldest as Charly is 81 and still drag racing his ZX14.

Where you at so others know and maybe can help you out with stuff?

It’s good to know Charly keeps going strong , kudos to him !! And congrats !! With that said I live in Miami Fl .
I was always told it’s better to dyno tune instead of flashing Ecu …. I heard of Nick’s Performance down here .. I am willing to travel for the right guy !!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated .

Ps: thoughts on the M4 full exhaust ? Thinking about Voodoo full exhaust as well…

Welcome to the wild world of 14s! Lot's of great riders here, amazing what some of these guys in the 70s and 80s are doing. I'm around your age, and hope that when I get there I can still do what these guys are doing.

M4 looks OK to me. Go with it if it's what you know. Can't go wrong with a stainless single side exhaust, good balance between weight reduction and cost. I and many have the Yosh stainless system and very happy with it, of course sounds amazing. although TBH I wish I could find a very quiet performance exhaust.

To save the most weight, Titanium systems are definitely worth it even as much more as they are over stainless. So consider that if you're considering trying to lighten the bike in a significant manner. It would suck to buy this exhaust, then decide after a couple yaers you really wanted to drop the bike's weight and probably around 8lbs difference between stainless and Titanium and then have to buy a whole different system. But people do it, and it's worth it from a weight loss cost ratio (just look at some titanium bolts...$60 to save an ounce).

M4 must be LOUD.

2015 zx 14R has less than 2200 miles on it. The M4 drag pipes on it are nearly new with 2 sets of inserts. Please txt me if you have something a bit more quiet and are interested in swapping + - some cash. In DFW Texas. OEM pipes on motorcycle now. Thanks much.

Any new owners with stock pipes may be interested in my offer to unload great sounding pipes that also look cool. I am going back to stock big fat heavy and ugly pipes because I like the quiet. My other bike is loud and I want a quiet ride on the Kawi so my loss is your gain.

I second all of what scott said even the price. Best money I spent on my bike, made it sound real sick...pull those baffles and she will get even sicker!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience, my bike is coming here around Tuesday ( in about 3 days ) and I wanted to get the exhaust sooner than later … so after watching many YouTube videos (which might be deceiving sometimes) I finally pull the trigger on the exhaust based on price look and sound !! Hopefully I won’t be disappointed, I will report back with some feedback .

I'm 66 years old and I still love roll on racing.

I had my ECU flashed from 2wheeldynoworks. My bike gained 6 hp and the smoothness it brought is incredible.
You'll love the 14R. Great bike.

I don't know which Sprint filter you're looking for. I have the PO8 listed for sale on the FOR SALE threads.
I went back to the stock filter with the screen removed. Just because. I think Kawi has it figured out which filter stops the most crud from getting into the engine. Just my personal thoughts.

Not sure about a sprint filter but the local knowledge is the stock filter with the screen removed is as good as it gets, Get a new one if you find to old is dirty.

This video made me buy the M4 GP exhaust , to me it sounds great and since this will be driven once a week , loud sound won’t bother me , forward to m 21:05 to hear exhaust

I have heard other exhaust in person and they don’t sound appealing … it’s very personal I think and it depends on how often you will be driving ..

Hi everyone, so finally bike arrived a couple of hours ago ! It looked as expected w no surprises except that bike was cranking very slowly to the point that it didn’t start … bike has 2000 miles on it and being 2018 I figure battery is dead , well that wasn’t disclose to me , calling dealer tomorrow morning to see what they say . I am happy with the way bike looks , just as expected, but couldn’t take it for a spin ??????. Will update soon

Hey guys I had M4 exhaust on my 14r and it was way too loud. I went to Yoshimura. Painfully expensive but glad I did it.

I love that sound! There's no way I want a quiet muffler on a motorcycle. I made the right choice with my exhaust. I won't ever go with a quiet exhaust. The sound adds so much to the experience. The only thing is the PAIR. I don't remember if you Gen2 guys can pull that off or block it but to me, it was just too noisy on the street rolling off the throttle at low rpm. Maybe I could get used to it now but it just felt obnoxious rolling to an easy stop with the bike crackling and popping. I blocked the PAIR and it was perfect. I later took the whole thing off and lost a few ounces.

I couldn’t agree with you more , now if it’s too loud and obnoxious to the point that is unbearable , well sometimes loud is not better , I like loud and deep , just like the video I showed …

a loud exhaust saved my life more than once on these Indonesian roads
letting every living being know that there is a Ninja coming...
