You guys are too nice!
I told the guy to wait for my payment before sending my Ohlins' but it was through PayPal so it showed up pretty quick. LOL I think he offered to send them while I was contemplating what means of payment to use.
Heads up on UPS insurance. I insisted on it and the box was indeed torn a bit when I picked up the package. I was told to CONTACT THE SELLER FOR A REFUND if anything was damaged. SO the seller is supposed REPLACE the item and make the insurance claim for reimbursement. I don't see how that replaces the value of the item that was damaged in transit unless it is written off as a business expense. Wouldn't work well for a private seller. If you want to insure this, ask how stuff is covered so it doesn't end up being a waste of Money. Find out who is responsible for lost or damaged packages.
I think UPS will be your only option. USPS won't ship stuff that is real big. I had The US postal service lie to me about a lost package. It was an obvious lie once it was found. The seller would not replace the item because he had had other similar situations where USPS lost stuff and just deflected the blame onto the sender.

Rook; The seller paid for the insurance when he shipped, so he gets settlement if the damage is determined UPS fault. It's up to the seller to refund you whether his or UPS fault.
The insurance is cheap enough that I always have it added, and it's saved me a couple times. The UPS dockworkers are like the Samsonite gorilla. FedX handles a lot less packages, and drivers load their own trucks, so a lot gentler, but my packages end up in the neighbor's bushes. PO more expensive, limited, and slower, but more reliable. They all suck in the end.

The insurance for My Ohlins suspensions was about $70. Worth it as long as you are confident the seller would take the trouble to file the claim.

I was a UPS docker for 10 years, then a driver for 25. Nothing like handing a package to someone with a big shoeprint on it. Luckily most loader's size 10 looked nothing like my 13EE. I must've ponted it out hundreds of times. When they raised the limit to 150 lbs., crushed packages increased 1000%.
