Rook's Shopping Trip
08/03/11 8:51 PM

Had a four hour layover in Milwaukee on Monday and went shopping for a new literbike for Rook. Will post some pics soon, I think he likes the BMW S1000RR. I thought it felt like a tank compared to the 2011 ZX10R, very top weighted feel but what do I know?

Also got to see Rook's ZX14 and visit his domicile.

The 14 has been OOC for a few weeks now, the busa I never pulled out of storage yet--- and I am going stir crazy which can only mean one thing----------I gotta ride!!!!

Tried cutting as much unneeded weight off the 14 as I could get but that sorta lead to a couple problems.

Need to find a new solution. which one fits the best;;;

The 2011 ZX-10. Holy CRAP it really is pretty much the same feel as the 600s. This could just be the best of both worlds. Scary to think I feel more at ease on this thing than swinging my leg over a ten speed.

the green ZX10 -a one way ticket to the the badboy club. If this beast doesn't bring the hellion out in you you might as well get a Goldwing.

.....THE GOLDWING

.....The Ducati OOOOOOOOooooooooo! never turned me on much except for the Desmsedici but after seeing in real life, this 1098 makes my heart flutter.

The s1000rr-------Kruz said he thinks it feels a little top heavy. IDK? Fee;ls close to the new ZX10 but it is a higher longer bike. OH MYY --and I always wanted a yellow bike. Yellow has always been the the color of lusciously fast in my book. Makes me drool

Rook; That doesn't look like your heart that's fluttering in the Ducati pic

I don't know about his heart fluttering but his right hand sure is, looks like he is already thinking about polishing the paint on that Ducati's fuel tank.

I think it's going to be a Duc for Rook, something different..... Rook the Ducatista! Hands down, the Duc was by far the sexiest machine we looked at for Rook. Do it Rook, that bike is waiting for you!

Look closely at the pics of Rook on the new ZX-10R
and the BMW, the 10 looks tiny by comparison. Beemer might be a good choice for someone my size.

I think the Ducati is cool IF yoiu already have all the other bikes you need. I don't see this ever getting to the stage where I could collect the more exotic bikes. A track bike, and a couple others would be as much as I could see me taking care of . Can you imagine what a maintenance quagmire three bikes would be? OH yeah...I guess you can.

Radio playing, Kruz-control on, GPScreen. I wanna see you change those tires, Rook. These babies only get better. I've seen them evolve from year to year since inception. They must be magic buy now.

you've got a busa and a 14 which are both icon/flagships. Get the next in line the 1000 RR! The Ducati is pricy! I heard you can get a 1000 rr set up moto gp style with arrow exhaust and even try it before you buy.

If history repeats itself that would mean I would have to have a 1000rr and a ZX-10. Wow, my head is swimming...........

The Vmax might be a cool looking bike but is it really all that fast once it jumps off the line? I always hear not. That would be a fun one to have once all the other bases were covered becuasi it is very unique.. I If were going to stray away from the sportbike territory, it would be for something totally different. Maybe the Goldwing wouldn't be such a bad idea. If I had a wife I might just do that. Wait, WTH did I just say? Somebody please backhand me. If I had a wife the chances of getting another bike would be about 0.

I almost had this beauty handed down to me from my old man. He had a couple falls and one highway crash. He decided it was time to downsize and he got himself a scooter---which he enjoys very much. Too bad Dad found a buyer. He got over $6K for this beauty even though he had it painted a hideous purple grey and it had been crashed and down and it was about 10 years old at the time of sale, I believe. Now this, my friends.....this IS a cruiser. If you are gonna ride a cruiser this is JUST WHAT YOU WANT. A Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter. Went out of production in about 2000. Pops was a 99, I think. I would have painted it back black and put a pipe on it. Kept the crash bars and saddle bags.

Rook! Track ready Bmer just cause I can't afford it and therefore need somebody to live my dream for me. I wouldn't even get a side stand on it unless it's the 1 brocks is coming up with. Super slicks, race fuel, a nice trailer to haul her. Then all you'll have to do is regular maintenance no power or weight shaving upgrade. I heard the zx 10 got better TC and think the game gna move from who s got the most hp to who s got the best TC and kaw is winning that race with the zx 10 especially when u factor in price. But if u wanna get sport bike history milestones kinda bike: 1000 RR. I would only go ducati if I was a serious track dayer and would go all out with a desmo rr race replica. When I can't ride anymore I d put it behing glass and move it to my living room.
