Very little that I did not like on teh 14, however, I have never been real happy with the tail light and turn signals . Decided to make a lil change..

Crude.. Are you in central California?
About the lites..
I found the tailite on Ebay Tailite link
Indicator link
You can use SEARCH "ZX 14 Smoked"
The stock tailite is sealed so I had to find a unit already smoked. ( ebay) Cant remember what I paid but they run around 60 to 70 bucks I think.
I could not find indicators already smoked so bought a can of VHT NITE SHADES, $15.00 at O'REILLY. I pulled the tail cover, side pieces and then removed indicators, pretty simple .. The lower part of the rear cover has a tit that slides into a rubber grommet or rather pulls out . I was worried about breaking it but that was hardest part. One screw seperates lens from indicator. I then washed lenses in warm soapy water and air dried. I used three coats but two would have done it. Kinda hard to get good coverage on all the lil depressions n stuff inside lens.
The foam gaskets around lenses will lay in the groove in the body of the indicator when reinstalling. I masked off the outside of the lenses to prevent over spray.

I never gave it a thought...I was looking for about three months and when I saw the unit on ebay , I bought it.. It also has integrated turn signals wired in so you get the stock turn signal and the extra leds in the brake light. I will try to get a picture later today.
I had seen some how-to videos of darkening lenses and looked to complicated for me as I am not a very good detail person..I found the VHT after I found the tail lite lens.

I got then off ebay. Any year zx14 or 06/07 zx10 will fit. There is a stock version and an euro version that is a little slimmer. The ones I have were originally made by clear alternatives, but I think they went out of business or were bought out by someone else. Most available now are from China or Hong kong. I've used sets from both places

I'm planning to start buying stuff to do this. I will only be doing the flashers. Here's my questions:
1. LED turn signals, do they hyper-flash with the OEM flasher relay? Did you need to install a resistor appropriate to the low draw of the LEDs?
2. Were you guys able to find both front and rear signals with LEDS preinstalled? I see smoked fronts with tungsten bulbs and smoked fronts with LEDs. I don't see smoked rears that include an entire directional light assembly with LED or tungsten. All they have for rears is the smoked lens.
3. I have concerns that the smoked lens will be too pale. The ones you have shown in your pics look dark enough even on a black bike but in the ads, they often look a lot paler. I know you can't guaranty how dark the ones I buy might be but any reassurance they will be dark enough?

I have put the smoked out on my last three bikes. Funny story. I ordered my last set And they arrived the day after I broke my foot. So I did not get to them for awhile. When I did I noticed the taillight was chipped. Got a refund. But I did not want to wait for the China delay. Order one that cost over twice as much. Lol. It was the exact same light as the 24 dollar lite. Even the casting marks were identical. They buy them in mass quantities for just a couple of bucks and Rebox the. But hey, it got here in three days, so there is that. Now I can put the ass-end back together.
There is a device that cycle city sells that stops the hyper flash. I pulled the led turn signals out and went back to stock bulbs. Why! Don’t know! Stupid I guess. I just like them better, and the dependably of them.
