First I must say THANK YOU TO GLENN FROM Zero Gravity. You are a gentleman and a scholar sir.
This story as always begins with Priscilla, when first I hit speeds in excess of 180 mph aboard her my quest for less buffeting began. I knew I would spend a lot of time with her at or above these speeds so I needed something better. The stock windscreen caused buffeting at speeds over 180 even in full tuck. I tried the ZG double bubble and immediately traded it for another stock windscreen to a member here on the forum. It didn't buffet the same just different but at 180+ the DB set up some kinda deep hum that was kinda wierd. Might be me or my tuck or whatever. Not sure. And not saying that the ZG DB is not a fantastic windscreen. I had one on my busa and it did not resonate at all at above 180. But I digress. Communication between myself and Glenn from Zero Gravity began.
My first thought was to request development of a Corsa model windscreen for Priscilla. A type of windscreen we see in Moto GP where speeds get up there. Glenn and I discussed this and the pros and cons of the current line-up of windscreens as it applies to the ZX-14R. I brought up the fact that I think there are some flaws in the shape and execution of the SR model for my application. We also discussed tint preferences and color bases for those tints. We discussed fit, finish, thickness, and overall quality feel. At this stage I asked for assistance from a couple of 14Nation Brothers and they also chimed in with THIER thoughts on current windscreen offerings for the R.
Glenn did me one better. In fact, I would say ZERO GRAVITY CHANGED THE GAME. The Corsa windscreen and it's development for the R IS COMPLETE. It will be released shortly I am sure by ZG in varying shades. I recommend the Light Smoke. I have the very first prototype Corsa Windscreen here in my garage and she is beautiful!
But here is how ZG changed the game. Under development has also been a new windscreen coming for superbikes called the Marc 1, after Marc Marquez. My personal favorite GP Star! (Love the way you stuffed Pedrosa back to the hospital dude! ). This windscreen, the Marc 1, has never been released to ANY superbikes. It has not been ever mounted on any model street bike outside of R&D. Predator racing will be offering feedback on the Marc 1 and Priscilla has THE VERY FIRST PROTOTYPE MARC 1. Not mounted on a superbike, not a 1000 either, and sorry Marc, not a Honda. May I introduce to y'all the very first pre-production prototype Marc 1:
