How long have you been at it?

Since 1969, you must be an old fart too.

I got my first street bike at 18 or 19 and have been riding ever since, I am 35 now. I also had dirt bikes growing up. I got my first one at 10.

I've had a checkered past. I owned a small off road bike when I was 11. I Also owned a cruiser when I was about 35. I used it as my only vehicle for about a year and a half. Six years passed and I bought the 14 which I have ridden for the last 3 seasons. I think it's accurate to say that I have been riding for a little over 3 years.

For me it's 27 years on the road,, 35 years in the dirt.

I started on the dirtbike at around 13 or thereabouts. Cousin bought a CR125. Did that for a few years. Then bought my first bike at the age of 21 - Yamaha FZR600. Rode that til a guy pulled out in front of me. Bought another one 9 years later and have been riding the '14 ever since. So, altogether, if I had to guess, I'd say around 10 years.

Been riding about 3 years. lol

Since 1994 and just recently got a real bike lol.

I have been riding 49 years. First bike was a Sears moped(2 1/2 hp). Had a 1970 500 triple and a 1973 Z1. Had about 40 bikes total.

Since 1979 (God that makes me feel old)

Started on one of the original "Sport" Bikes.

A Honda 400 Super Sport. Low bars, 4 into one exhaust. Neat little Bike.

Then a Honda 750F made into a Chopper. Extended front end, twisted Z Bars, straight pipes. Yep, rode it everyday to work (PD) in full uniform :)

Then a Honda V-65 Magna

Then my first NINJA a '87 1000R

Then an '06 ZX-14

Now my '09 ZX-14 Monster

First bike...TACO minibike(9 yrs old)...next bike...1975 Yamaha 175 enduro.....16 yrs old.Next bike...Honda 90....22 yrs old.Next bike....Harley Davidson Heritage Classic...2000 model(brand new)....(stolen)...47 yrs old. Next...2002 zzr1200(brand new)....50 yrs old.Next...Harley Davidson Ultra Classic...1995 model(used).Sold it next year.Got zx12R...2004 model(new).Rode it two and a half years...traded up for my BEAUTIFUL BIRD...Ninja zx14,2007 model(zero miles,brand new)."She's a keeper"..yup.

I have been riding since I was 8. I am 40 now. I started on an MX 60, and have been working my way through an assorted lot since. I have been licensed since I was 15.5. In Tx you could jump through some hoops and ride a 125 until 16. Then it was whatever ya threw a leg over.

Most memorable, before the 14, was my RZ350 in high school. Lots of fun on that one.

been riding 33 yrs. Used to bum rides on friends ke125 and honda trail 90 then at 16 got a mt250 elsinore and a kh400 and hid them from my parents for two yrs then joined the military. Got a brand new 82 rd350 for 3wks 3hrs a guy pulled out in front and it was written off. Picked up a used one and rebuilt it. Then I bought a 78 Z1R , then a 01 zrx12(new 74K on it now) and finally the 14 which should be out of the shop tomorrow. And I still have them all because I can't seem to let go of my past.

Virtually all my riding is street riding.
When I was in high school, I did a little bit of riding in the dirt; the benefit of that experience was that it taught ME how to balance ON a bike and how TO balance A bike.

^^^^+ you knew how to drive standard transmission when it came time to do that in a car or truck. I was driving cement trucks and a semi when was 17. The early motor cycle manual shifting took care of half of the learning curve there.

First bike was a XL-250 in 1977..... EEEEkkkk. Then Can-Am 175 & 250 (two strokes Love them still)CR 480 & a mud bogger XR 500. GPZ-550, then 650 & 750 Honda Gave up the bikes and spent all money on Snowmobiles. Now we have very little snow, soooo in rolls the YZ-450, Blow the motor, take a break, then break leg at work(dirt bikes now out). Now it's 2007 zx-14 time and here we are. Man you guys are getting old LOL. Glad to see you guys have never lost your Love for the bikes. Good Read Cheers.

Come on boys. This could be a great thread. Fess up. Yes, I know it dates some of us, but I told you guys my first bike was a XL-250,,,,,, That was not easy LMAO.

The first bike I actually owned was in 1968, a Kawasaki H-1 Mach III 2-stroke triple. Then in 1972 I got a H-2 Mach IV. 1974 a Z1. On through the decades, almost every street bike 500cc or larger K ever made and sold in the US.

The question is when did I first ride though. I rode my dad's panhead Harley a few times in the early 1960s but never very far or long. I was on the back of a motorcycle from the time I could hold on.

The first bike I road was a early 60's Vesper Scooter my cousin owned, we road that poor thing to death, my first bike was a 2 stroke lawn mower engined mini bike, first with gears was a 60's Yamaha YL1 100cc twin. and Romans will definitely not be getting a Xmas card this year.
