RE: 2013 ZX-14R for sale on Bring a Trailer at No Reserve

Check in on the auction for this minty 2013 bought new in 2014 by extrapolator. Is this not among the best looking years of 14R? I think so, without a doubt. ...also meticulously cared for and that Muzzy exhaust goes hand in hand with Kawasaki from way back when I used to look at these bikes and dream. Extremely classy on the Muzzy!
I'm giving my buddy, extrap my sincere support on this but if I can take that bike, I will. Go bid! PM an offer. I've thrown my hat in the ring in my own way.

Thanks David, appreciate it. And as I said in my first post about selling the ZX, I still ride and will still be around the forum. This forum has good, helpful, mature individuals, and that's not always true on motorcycle forums!
Please Kofla says he gives me a year or two and I'll be back on a 14 :D

A bid is a commitment to purchase, and we do not cancel bids on the site. Please be very careful when entering your bid and be sure to check with your significant other before placing a bid.
That's one advantage to not having a significant other. ![]()

The current bid is 2,311. Two days left. Some people are bothering with eleven dollars. Do I have to pay sales tax? I'm registered.

Very common on Bring a Trailer for bidders to submit oddball bids. There are probably as many reasons for it as there are people

I "think" you'd only have to pay to register the vehicle in your state. Caveat: I'm no tax expert! And I'm not a dealer! I know that I've bought several out-of-state vehicles and brought them home to Florida, and I've only ever paid Florida registration costs which include registration fees and sales tax. Two of those purchases were 2005 Ford GTs in the $300K - $350K range, and I paid Florida registration fees of ~$18K and ~$21K, but nothing to any other states.

There's one reason for it. They're casting their spare dollars on the chance they'll get a ridiculous deal. Your bike is worth more than that. However, I believe you will get the serious customers coming in at the end.
I'll make my bid tomorrow afternoon and just close my eyes and cross my fingers.

Could be!

Thanks, hope so ... otherwise it'll probably one of the greatest deals ever on a motorcycle with zero issues!

OK! Again, good luck to ya!

Holy crap! It went to $6000! Still a bargain! Flying to Gainesville and riding home sounds actually quite wonderful. Few hundred bucks, fly, ride home, the 14 uses gas like an economy car. Closing eyes and crossing fingers.

Daron - Bring a Trailer has a minimum bid increment that increases as the bids increase. Not sure, but I think it might be $100 right now.
Edit: Sorry, I know this is minutiae ... I was at dinner with friends and couldn't concentrate on posting ... I should've waited!! ![]()

OK, I hope they don't but they're crazy if they don't bid another hundred bucks. Hell, I'd bid another hundred bucks but I'm closing my eyes and going to sleep. Will check in the morning but I have no power to outbid during the day. I'm working.

Daron - Your post makes me think you didn't realize that Bring a Trailer accepts your actual bid (often called straight bidding), unlike eBay which takes your bid and lowers it to whatever amount is required to beat the current high bidder by the applicable bid increment (called proxy bidding).
I hope that doesn't mess you up.

I hope it doesn't mess me up either. I bid $6000 and my understanding is that there is a 9% auction fee that's charged in addition. I just went with the maximum amount I wanted to bid because I don't have time to sit at the computer and try to outbid people.
I hope I didn't make a huge blunder. If I win, my understanding is that the total cost from the auction will be $6,540. If that's how it goes, great! I expect someone will outbid me while I'm at work. If not, I get the bike.
I didn't want my bid lowered. I wanted it to be the most I was willing to pay.

Hi All - The auction ends at 3:00 pm Eastern today (https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2013-kawasaki-zx14r-ninja/). I just posted in the auction comments that if the winning bidder wants to fly in and ride the bike home, I will meet you up at our local airport GNV and bring you to our home where the bike is kept, or if you're in a hurry I could bring the bike and all the extras with me in my enclosed car hauler trailer, unload there, and you can tell me which extra items you want shipped to you, and you can leave for home faster.

Well, extrap, to explain a little more, $6000 was what I wanted to pay and that already would have given me a guilt complex, taking this beautiful bike and all the cool touring stuff for less than $8000. The bid was at $4100. I just bid what I felt I could spend right now. If nobody else would have bid higher, I feel $6000 would have been a steal. I wouldn't have minded possibly spending $1900 more than I had to according to the current bid ($4100 was a joke). Also, I could have taken the day off of work to sit at the computer and compete with the other bidders but it seemed very likely I would have been outbid anyway. There goes another sick day. SO I just offered what I wanted to pay. Final bid, $7000. With the auction fee, that would have put me above $8000. $8000 is my price point.
Analytical always beats instinct. When there's not time to be analytical, that's when to rely on instinct. I think I made the best choice but I'm feeling a bit disappointed that I wont get your 14R and I will have to settle for some other. I'm thinking a purple and white paint scheme, probably with race fairings someday but if I had yours, I wouldn't touch the OEM fairings. It's a gorgeous bike, it's a well maintained bike with reasonably low miles. The guy who got it for 7k got an amazing deal especially if he wants to do some touring.
