Man I Love Riding My Bike
06/05/13 5:27 PM

It was another shitty day at work overwhelmed with Bull Shit. With not enough time to get it all done....and dealing with people that just don't get it! but as soon as I got on my sexy black mistress with my ear buds in and just the right FU tunes going I slipped her into first cracked the throttle and immediately got launched into another place and time to forget the BS and enjoy the 25 minutes of freedom from the world..... Aaaaaaaa what a great lady..... If there was only more time to ride her like I want and she even thinks a little gas is a good thing!!!!

Get out and ride guys life is too short and the BS will always be there! CHEERS!

For real. I ride 40 miles to work one-way, and most days it's the only peace I get. It is very refreshing.

I ride to work too, and on week nights after the kids are down and asleep. Sometimes I get out on the weekend too.

See you guys get it!!! I once was asked, "How do you relax and whats the key to relaxation for you?" I simply reached in my pocket and pulled out the key to a motorcycle

I rode my sexy lady in to work today again and for the last three days. Everyone better than the next when I’m on her! One of the guys said “hey you know it’s supposed to rain later today” I told him I’d rather ride in the rain then sit in the office on a sunny day anytime! LOL

Nice bike, Somefun. I'm reading over your mod list. Hope to be able to cut and paste to my signature someday. I see you have an LRC clutch cover. Did you look at APE or Woodcraft or any other brands? I like the look of the OEM engine covers but I may go with aftermarket covers to save weight + it's just cool to have aftermaket parts. I don't even know what is available out there for the 14.

Thanks Rook! Yeah I have issues for sure! lol I love the cover but took it off this year because it’s heavier than stock and with adding the NOS kit I felt guilty and needed to take the extra weight off that I put on so the cover had to go! I'll sell it cheap if you’re interested? :)

It's not the ceramic one! They're stainless steel ($550) and heavier than OEM BUT they're full floating so you get less drag. I was chasing a ZX-12 the other day and we had to some emergency braking from deep in the triple's. I was glad I had them and the Brembo MC LOL They require some getting used to because they move around a little (bumps etc) and are getting a little louder now they that they are thinner but nothing you can hear over the CT-Duals which aren't the louder exhaust.
I gave up on the CMC way to much $$ for me. Especially since it's a part that is going to need replacing. My alternative is to get Braketech Iron Rotors and matching pads and swap when I do track days and LSR events. They tend to rust fast in humid climate but I will get them cleaned and stored properly after each event.

*They look almost as good as the CMC and can be had for $629 at solomotoparts. If you want different button color or carrier give a call to Jeff at braketech! They're made to order and take a little while but are worth it.

little info

I'm also looking at the translogic (button shifter) that you mount on the handlebar. Downside is you can't use foot shifting when it's in place but it sure will be nice to have for an LSR.

Very cool! I don't think you will need to swap the disks or pads....I love my track days and LSR top speed events and I'm hard on the brakes and run real fast and have never had a brake issue. I have after a real long session felt a little fade but nothing that would slow me down. I'm running Galfer super bike rotors and EBC HH and extreem HH pads.

Wow, heavier than stock? thanks for being upfront on that....I like the style of the OEM covers. I'd be changing to an aftermarket only to loose weight. If the LRC is not lighter, i doubt any of the other aftermarket covers are. I don't see that there is any advantage unless you got an APE easy access clutch cover for drag racing.

....i will prolly be dumping my Woodcraft stator cover that I bought for the busa stator if it is not as light as stock. I have issues too!

I thought after market race case covers were supposed to be more robust than stock, sort of a racer's crash bar without the clearance issues, but wtf do I know, never been on a track.

I would be interested in them if you have both sides......assuming there are covers for both sides.

I hear you about the "I love riding my bike" bit. After many intense canyon carving miles on Ice House Rd and Wentworth Springs yesterday with my busa riding buddy, I still have a perma-grin on face. These twisties are in the vicinity of Placerville, CA, in the Sierra Nevada foot hills. It was 102 degrees in Placerville and the Black Knight performed flawlessly, fan only kicked on a couple of times in town traffic and cooled things down immediately. These monsters are truly bullet proof if they can survive frequent red line runs in that in that kind of heat! Been at this madness for decades and can say without hesitation, the newer ZX14R can do it all! I'm in love!! LOL
