I love the look and sound of my Muzzy's ... but I do miss the stealthiness of those huge OEM cans.
Might slip 'em back on and reaffirm why I got the Muzzy's! Haha!

I've gotten tired of loud exhaust before and put quiet mufflers back on for a couple of rides. I find myself missing the louder pipes, I tend to shift by sound and not look at the tach much. Be careful doing the swap...it would be a shame to dent or scratch those beautiful Muzzys just because your bored.lol

Don't know exactly how much the OEM cans weigh over and above an after market can(s)but considering the bike's curb weight is over 260kg the cans will be a small percentage of that. Not as if it's unsprung weight either which would be more noticeable for road use. Chasing 1/4 mile times maybe, road use not so much. Had noisy pipes on various bikes years ago but they're long gone. They're just a PITA now, quiet is good JMO

Each OEm Gen1 muffler is about 15 pounds and the header is about 9, I think. After installing the full system, I noticed a nice difference in handling, especially at low speed. If you have no other weight loss mods, the exhaust will probably make a difference for some of your riding. Small weight loss mods don't make a difference all by themselves.

The larger black carbon dekelvic slip-ons to me are perfect. They have a growl at full rev but are super quiet with the baffles in them at normal speed. I cant hear them at all while cruising. Less than $500.00 as well! Hard to beat.

I had a fully Muzzy with a carbon can on my ZRX so I have a basis of comparison, and frankly I prefer the stockers on the 14. Sound ranges from sewing machine to The Incredible Hulk Roaring In The Next Room as the rpms go up. She not quiet when angry.

OK I swapped 'em back on tonight. Good LAWD are they big. And good LAWD are they quiet. A good quiet, right now anyway, given my current mood ... HAHA ... who knows, tomorrow I might decide I need to be loud again. For now I like it of being all stealthly quiet Fortunately they swap out easily enough.
While I was at it, I weighed the OEMs and the Muzzys ... again ... pretty sure I did it before but don't remember if I posted the results, so here it is:
OEM right-side slip-on = 15.4 lbs (6.99 kg)
OEM left-side slip-on = 14.6 lbs (6.62 kg)
OEM slip-ons total = 30.0 lbs (13.6 kg)
Muzzy right-side slip-on = 7.6 lbs (3.45 kg)
Muzzy left-side slip-on = 7.2 lbs (3.27 kg)
Muzzy slip-ons total = 14.8 lbs (6.71 kg)
So the Muzzy's reduce the bike's total weight by 15.2 lbs (6.89 kg). Or, stated another way, I just put 15 friggin pounds back on my bike!
Also, I agree with whoever said the size of the OEM cans kinda goes with the bike ... big bike, big cans.

Yep, they are certainly big but not excessively heavy given their size and the overall weight of the bike IMO. Not too bothered about looks to be honest 'cos I can't see them when I'm riding anyway. Big power and little noise means big cans to get the gas flow. A smaller can(s) will either be noisier or stifle gas flow and hence power.

Took a ride last night with the OEM cans on. Takes me back to Day 1 ... when this thing was quiet and smoooooth and shockingly fast. Seems like loud exhaust offsets the 'feel' of how fast the bike really is. Like, the fact that it's loud makes you feel like it should be fast, and therefore it doesn't actually feel it as much so. Whereas a whisper quiet motor that's fast as hell is surprisingly hooollllyyyyy cccoooowwww!!!! Like a Cadillac and freight train mixed ... maybe a Freight Tradillac

Pegscraper, the smaller Alien Head 2 single sided can is about a foot long and will outflow the restrictive OEM can by a massive margine. Take a look at the tiny exit that the exhaust has to funnel through to escape on the OEM muffler.

+1. I love my Delkevic as well even though mine is SUS. After reading this thread last night, I inserted the baffle this morning. Nice deep sound at idle and a growl at higher revs.
