My new 14R

after a 6 year hiatus with no bike,I am happy to say im back on 2 wheels again! Picked it up with 66 miles on it for dirt cheap! Previously owned a 2005 ZX10 in magma red that I loved, but sold to get a Ford lightning.

I picked it up for $10,500 and it still had the rubber nipples on the tires.

It is a great bike man. Only have 280 miles so far, but its a smooth runner, and handles excellent compared to the much lighter 10R. Ive brought it to 11k under wot twice so far, and to me it just feels on par with the 10R. To be honest, I expected more out of it considering all the Internet hype. Maybe it will loosen up a bit with a few more miles.

To clarify, I expected more in the acceleration part, not the handling of the bike. It dances very well through the twisties for the weight it's carrying. Acceleration to me is great, but I guess I had this rip your arms off, devil possessed picture in my head from all the reading I've been doing.

Well that's exactly what I got compared to everything I've had. I guess it's what you are comparing it to and what you are used to. First ride even in this category for me but I can promise you I'm never going back to the dark side! Most amazing bike I've experienced.

It's not internet hype. It's cold hard facts that many have proven many times over. Including me. Your first gen 10 felt a lot quicker than it was. The super light chassis and the very short wheelbase gave it the APPEARANCE of absolute power. The 14R will absolutely DEVASTATE the little first gen 10 on the strip. I promise.

Edit: I want to stress the COMPLETE AND TOTAL DEVASTATION that would occur between the two aforementioned machines in a test of acceleration.

The newest generation has been described being "not unlike that of astronauts leaving the earths gravitational pull"

I agree. The big Ninja opened up down a stretch is a "second to none" acceleration experience

Maybe your bike is not running as it should.

Assist:

The 14R will absolutely DEVASTATE the little first gen 10 on the strip. PERIOD!!

Try this, Nasty. Turn off the KTRC then attempt some rolling launches.

If your rotator cuffs are still intact begin self diagnosis for Troll Syndrome.

I never said the 10 would outrun or hang with the 14, I just said that seat of the pants that they felt similar. Im not trying to start a shit storm here at all, just giving my riding impression. I have a long history of drag racing mustangs, Ford Lightnings, Camaros, ect. I bet none of you could tell the difference between a 9.8 pass vs a 10.8 pass by just driving it. This is what im trying to say here.

Maybe if I rode them on the same day I could tell a difference. Like I stated in my OP, I haven't had the bike in 6 years. Im comparing seat of the pants feel from memory alone. The 10 felt like a stick of dynamite where as the 14 feels like a patriot missle.

Was not my intent at all WFO, guess I'll just keep my opinions to myself in the future. Didn't mean to offend anyone.
