Here's the short version w/ an appropriate tune:

Vid is from the second session, but the weather was shitty all day... Didn't bother me though. I had actually been looking forward to trying out my rain tires. Unfortunately, my GoPro did not like the weather at all... and about 10 seconds after it died, I'd caught up with the guy in the yellow jacket (that'd passed me) only to have him lowside right in front of me at the top of T-3. His bike was pinwheeling down the track in spectacular fashion. Would have been awesome footage.

Dude's an animal though... Got up, got back on, and did it again (same turn) a few sessions later:

Got tons of track time, and as the day went on the pace got faster and faster... Was SWEET!... Back again on Friday.

Wish I had the talent and confidence to drift like Kiyonari... Really want to pick up a sumo soon to work on that. Gen 1 10r's throw noobs like lawn darts when that game is played.

Ok, so you're not impressed w/ my rain riding?... Check out my lines compared to the vid of my first day, though. Major improvement. Probably because all I could see was the marker cones.

Getting better everytime out there. Your turn.

No contest from me. Ida taken a spin around the track if I made the trip but I'd be going pretty slow . Hit the grass in that weather and you're going down. NO ifs ands or buts.

Oh no I am! I would have probably put the bike back on the trailer and ask for a refund but you... you were still having fun!!!

Yep pretty soon. My new Supertech R should be here end of next week.

I need a track bike asap though. I bet you can tell the difference between people who own one bike and guys that own several at the track. Especially if they ride in the street lol

Still no grass @ The Ridge... well, in the run outs.

Oh no I am! I would have probably put the bike back on the trailer and ask for a refund but you... you were still having fun!!!

Lots 'o fun... Just gotta be ready... Rain tires, rain gear, latex gloves, and shopping bag boot liners.

It was a cool format on Mon. They'd set it up to where 100 and 200 level riders got the track for alternating 1/2 hour sessions. 300 level riders were supposed to have the track for an hour @ lunch and then from 5pm until 7pm... but with the low turn out, they ran an open (anyone can go @ anytime) format and just reatarted us every half hour... Like I said, tons of track time!

Nice lookin' boots.

I bet you can tell the difference between people who own one bike and guys that own several at the track. Especially if they ride in the street lol

From what I've seen, most guys start riding their street bikes, crash 'em, then make those track bikes and buy a new street bike... or just start borrowing bikes for street rides.

That's where the problem is. If I got the 14 I can't make it a track bike lol and I don't wanna spend 15 k for a new one. Need that track bike asap. I'll do 3 track days with the 14 and start saving for a track bike. Those RC8 look sweet.

Yes they do... Top 3 on the list of exotics I'd love to own. They put down massive tq #'s.

But for a track bike?... No thx. I wouldn't go any more exotic than a Duc.

You're telling me KTM parts are harder to find than Duc parts!!!!!!! That's sad, I was looking at a sweet '10.

No... I'm telling you trackside RC8 parts would be harder to get than Duc parts. Have not seen an RC8 out there yet... Always see Ducs. KTM sumos are a different story.

I'm surprised, they're cheaper than Ducs and are excellent on the track. If I can be ok with the idea of using the 14 on the track for the next six months...mayne I'll be able to afford one!

#'s game... Ducati makes how many models of sportbikes and for how long? KTM?... Know what I mean?

Just got back from the track... Moved up to 300 (expert) level today. That was fun... also crashed again today. That was fun too. Really am sick in the head now... When do you suppose a guy just stops counting?

Congrats would be an accomplishment if I could move into RED(intermediate) group this year. Just gotta get more practice in. The beginner group scares me a little you get the accordian affect from everyone flying on the straights and slamming on the brakes in the curves. Very hard to get a good lap in that way. The more advanced groups don't seem to have that problem. Trying to get in 5 more trackdays this year hopefully by seasons end I can get my bump!!!

Thanks Silver... but I won't really consider it an accomplishment until I'm riding like the other guys in the group... Dudes iz FAST!

Next track day, just ask to be moved to intermediate... They'll probably have a Marshal follow you for a session and then give you a yea or nay.

Yea I could but really want to be confident and comfortable in beginner first. Last thing I want is to be bumped up then get ran over!! Gonna take it slow and work on things like body positioning, throttle control. With my work schedule can only hit the track once a month twice if the planets align correctly.

Gotcha Silver... Definitely best to only move up if/when you feel comfortable about it... I was very comfortable moving up to expert, eventhough that meant I would be one of the slower riders. Passing rules are a lot looser, but the guys (and gals) know how to well.

I saw two smaller guys on real track bikes crash in the Novice group last track day. I'm riding around BFR on my 14 mostly in 2nd gear. I don't ever need 4th gear except for the straightaway.

I could care less about moving up to anything. The Novice group hauls ass by the end of the day and sometimes they crash. I actually slowed down as the day went on both times.

From what I've witnessed, there seem to be more crashes in intermediate than any other level... Makes sense really... Most crowded and more balls than skills. I stepped "down" to intermediate after crashing on Fri. Felt like an ass for getting the session red flagged.
