Can you take your 'old' map with you and do a handfull of pulls with that was well, so we can see a comparison?

JC, safe bet. You No see. Maybe Dyno sheet over the phone. I made Dozen of my own smooth Maps. All made my bike slower, but smooth. Like you posted above TTD in the shitttttter.

I'm skeptical knowing you can do two things with the software

Only one Task is being accomplished(TP Set)but there two different ways of supplying power to the Power commander Module. Our computer software can not see and is blind with out a power supply going to the module. One way to supply power is to use a outside power source(9 volt). Second way, is to start the bike. Now the bikes own power is being delivered to the power commander. Dyno-Jet implies that both ways will show the same #'s in the software. They do not. It has been noted that if you shut your bike off with the kill switch ONLY, power still remains going to the PC3. (Same way as our lights stay on). So with kill switch off, there is no need for the 9volt battery. Now you are free to open and close throttle at will, with out the fear of doing motor damage. A company the size of Dyno-jet could have told us this. The way it is written now I'm sure we have guys all over the world in their garages punching there bikes wide open in search of the proper TP setting. Can't be Good.

That is what I sorta meant when Kruz was describing how Ivan would float Kruz is valves, at no charge. I thought there had to be another way to see 0 to 100% rather than WOT the throttle. Yeah, sorta like that key on/kill off, read the rheostat in the TPS is what it wants. Same goes for the 9v, but me no have PC to find out. And with all the first gen PCIII tuning, why did not Ivan figure that out with..... Ah, forgetoeboutit.

I am not anti-fuel cutting box. I just don't need those kind of units with a box stock running mentality. I have the TFI and that messes the base setting I rather be in [is stock]. Same thing goes for the wired-in AFR box I have running now. If I can't get rid of that box messing up the driveability, I am back to a single wire [narrow band] poor-man's 02 sensor, work with an ohm meter outside the bike's wire harness. The AFR box is interference if you can feel it kick in. Tfi has the same interference feel, butt butter smooth otherwise. I'm sure any fuel cutting box will ping the bike like, blue, was tuning his... sans the cleanup.

I throw tune at mine, the front end comes up I stop steering... Ain't that fun, me no need no stink'ing cut box in play? Data is WATTie say...

Romans has it dead nutz on this whole 9 volt battery thing. It works well for uploading maps to your PowerCommander while on the bench but that is all I would trust it for.

Found something else out by accident Saturday. I wanted to take a look at that new map for the ZX-10 that Ivan had sent me. When I ordered it, he had loaded into the PCIII. I powered up the PCIII on the bench with the 9 volt battery and switched on the PC USB utility on my laptop. I got the green light on the PCIII showing power but the PCIII utility screen on my laptop was telling me there was communication established but no map loaded in the PCIII. I was getting a little upset with Ivan at this point but then I thought possibly the 9 volt battery voltage is too low and things are getting weird again. A quick run to the grocery store for a fresh 9 volt Duracell and everything worked fine, map was in there. The PCIII is very voltage sensitive, normally digital devices either work or they don't, with the PCIII it appears it will "sorta" work if the voltage gets out of parameters.

Finally got out today for a shake down run with my newly installed Jeffro fuel map.

Nice smooth power delivery. No more stumble & hesitation at 3,500 rpm. No deceleration popping either.

Very happy with the results so far. Headed to the dyno soon to get the sniffer hooked up and a couple of pulls to make sure the air fuel mixture is correct.

I will post up results of the dyno test in the next few weeks.

Thanks again Jeff.

Alright, alright, the suspense is killing me, I can't take it anymore. I'm going to call Jeffo for a dial-a-tune on my ZX-10R, maybe the CBR map was a fluke.....you still take PayPal...I wanna different monkey this time though!

Just got back from the dyno session with my newly installed Jeffo map.

I have a 2008 with 6,000 miles. My mods include Muzzy CF duals, PCV, stock airfilter, and flies removed.

Bike runs great on the street, and I just wanted to check A/F to make sure everything was working properly.

The dyno operator said there is room for improvement - maybe 5+ hp, but it would cost me $250 for a custom map.

Here is a printout of the pull. Feel free to comment, if you can interpret the graph.

After reading this entire post I decided to give it a shot, I email him and recieved a call within 24hrs, we talked about my mods and he even walked me through the installation of everything from map to accelerator pump. I have a set of TiForce High Mount Slip-ons and the flies removed. He asked several questions and I am happy with the end result as of now but havn't had a chance to really put any seat time down due to weather and family issues.

Before I bought this bike I was the very proud owner of an 01 CBR 929 Erion Racing Edition that was pretty well modified.
pc3r
factory pro velocity stacks
BMC race filter
reverse shift
-1+2 520 kit
custom ram intake
scotts damper
full scorpion exhaust

that's just the performance stuff, but some low lives abducted her, but the only good thing is, I had to replace her and don't think I could have picked a more suitable replacement.

zxrider, did you have them do a run with the dj map you were using b4 jeffos?Be interesting to see the difference. Im no expert but Im thinkin 177hp is not bad for slipons

I am not into peak HP numbers for bragging rights or looking to gain .00005 seconds in 1/4 mile drag racing.

My intention was to get a good street map for drivability, throttle response, and highway roll-ons for fun against my buddies.

When my bike was stock, the throttle response was twichty, a few backfire pops here and there, and the terrible flat spot at 3,500 rpms. The bike also had no bottom end power, compared to my previous 2006 Hayabusa.

After I added a PCV, slip-ons, removed the flies and the Jeffo map, my seat of the pants dyno told me right away that my bike was stronger. On my first test ride, the bike powered up 2nd gear effortlessly at about 4,000 rpms - this had never happened before.

To be safe, I made an appointment with our local tuner, and the graph results is posted above.

Also note, that this dyno run was done on a Superflo dyno which I am being told typically reads lower than an inflated Dynojet dyno.

Do your homework, call Jeffo, and make your own conclusions. For $50 I am very happy!

Sorry, I spent $50 and I wasn't.

zxrider11,

Is the red horizontal line on the graph the AF (13.1) indicator? I'm not sure I follow how to interpret that line, unless it is a baseline AF, like 13.1.... or ? and the line sorta tracking it is your actual AF.

below is a DJ set of runs, most bottom graph is A/F. Red horizontal is baseline 13.1, which DJ tuners typically try to use, which comes from their training.

I like the map Jeffo sent me, now that I've had a chance to run it hard. I still need to get to the dyno, but so far I'm very happy with the F.A.I.C. map.

I also liked the map that Jeffo sent me. Works great with the setup I have and I can feel a seat of the pants difference right off the bat IMO! Have yet to have it dynoe'd to see what the numbers are from my last sessions with a Brock's map and with a custom map but cudos to Jeffo for the map and the customer service!
