Sorry 'bout the dealy getting back to you, DK... Basically been out @ The Ridge since Thurs!

I take gas with me... I go thru 7-9 gallons per day including one for the genie.

Here's vid from J's 3rd session... have not even had a chance to watch yet, so hopefully nothing too embarassing.

I figured you were at the track!
7-9 that's not too bad but then again you're on a 10

nah your boy did good, didn't get over his head, he'll be fast in no time, especially with its size and weight lol
There his this local RC8 racer who was telling me how he was smoking a 30 lbs heavier rider with equal skills. The heavier rider was later on the brake, carried a tad more corner speed but not enough to put enough distance before getting to the straight. Not only the weight thing, smaller guys get less drag so + 4 hp and less drag you do the math. Teach J some stuff but leave some room just to make it fair lol

@Rook: just one tank for 70 miles and 8 15-20 min sessions wow! Don't think I can do that, I would probably be way under 30 miles/gallons at the track. I will just get a van, fill the bike up and get another 4 gallons just in case. I'm going to bring the wifey a la Dogo. After all I need an umbrella girl lol

That's the thing... you have to ride home, I don't... Allows me the luxury of twisting the throttle a little bit harder.

Burned up a rear Supercorsa in 10 sessions... $250 a pop. ... Spent the weekend running around the pits @ the races snagging takeoffs @ $40 a pop after that.

nah your boy did good, didn't get over his head, he'll be fast in no time, especially with its size and weight lol

I just watched... his lines look pretty good, don't they?
His shifthing needs work, but that'll come.

No kidding about J's size. He is a "jockey"... His suit is the smallest size A* makes.

I'm going to bring the wifey a la Dogo. After all I need an umbrella girl lol

That's how it's dun, son!

Here's how I'm gonna "keep it fair"...SHHHH.

Gorilla humping a football?

Can see the boogers hangin' off of the rear tire.

First session of the day. Nels and I coming up on some "pylons"... Nels looking over @ the Marshall like, "WTF is up with this shit"... Turns out, we went out in the wrong group.

Nice! What do you think of the CBR's handling compared to the ZX?

For real... This place is sooooo fucking awesome!... They've done such a good job with the design... Makes you feel like your rippin' ass out on an open country road... without any ditches.

As far as 2up... I would say 2fast would be the Org most likely to let it fly... I've seen instructors and racers do it. Since you used to (maybe you still do) have a race license, I'd bet you'd be allowed... 'Course before you made the trip, we could find out for sure.

What do you think of the CBR's handling compared to the ZX?

Stuff like that is so tough for me to describe. Plus, I need to ride the CBR quite a bit more to be fair. That was the first time I'd ever run GP shift, and only the second I'd used a quickshifter. My zx is a hammer, the CBR is a velvet sledge hammer. The ergos are better, the chasis is more stable, and the weight of the bike is better balanced. I pussed it on that thing, and it just kept begging for me to give it more... The zx more says, "Come on. Bring it, Punk. See what I can do to you."

Dang, that didn't take long!

So, what times are the white plates guys running and what are the yellows at the Ridge?
Are you racing both the 10r and the cbr?

Didn't take long?... Well you know, some just have natural talent. j/k

So, what times are the white plates guys running and what are the yellows at the Ridge?

Had a kid from Oregon come up this weekend and run a 1:40 flat in 750 SBK... but low to mid 1:40's will make the podium. In Novice, anything under 1:50 will podium.

Are you racing both the 10r and the cbr?

I'm just racing my 10r in Novice... But there was this guy out there last week, on some bad ass CBR, running 1:37's... Can't remember his name... HMMMMMMMMMMM.

Is this picture at Laguna? Is that a Moto Guzzi in the background?

Not heading to Laguna until Weds... and yep, dat's awe Guzzi.

Since it was my first race, I had to wear a "slow guy" vest on Saturday... Pissed a few guys off.

They let me take it off Sunday.

Not sure if you mentioned this before, but I am not going to read 14 pages to find out, lol Who is your photographer, and what camera do you use? I have a Yashica 35mm SLR camera with a 400mm telephoto lens. I bought it in 1988 just for shooting motorcycle racing. Those are great shots!

Those shots are by Darren Beatty<---click
I don't know a thing about photography, but his contact info is in that link... Super nice guy.

Here's a few more:

He took some really good group shots as well... However, he asked me not to post them anywhere for a week.

Oh, I see, he is a proffesional photographer. Awesome pictures.

That reminds me of an amateur photographer who used to follow us at the motocross races when I was working at the Honda dealership in my hometown, (this was back in 1978). He would then then sell the pictures to the racers to support his photography hobby.

Lol, I hear you, mine either. It is a very expensive hobby. Depending on the brand, camera and high quality lenses cost more than a motorcycle. And it takes skills, lots of practice, and money to be a good photographer.

Have to start in the second wave, but my lap times are there to make up the time... The podium is mine!!!

Hope all has been well with y'all!
