I just talked with Battlefield Harley (huge HD dealer) and got the dyno guy on the phone. I learned some things, since I never actually ran a dyno (always had someone else do it).
To get accurate horsepower and A/F readings, they have to clip sensors to the plug wires. Shite. I don't really want to ride it there and then take all the cowling etc. off to get to the plug wires.
Is there an easier way?
And none of the dyno locations have an easy way to get the results into a jpeg or graphic file. The best they can do is print it, then I'd have to scan it into a PDF, and then I'm not sure what I'd do with it because I can't afford the software to convert a PDF to a jpeg or .doc file.

THEY can plug the rpm sensor from dyno onto the ECU if you know which wire it is .. but really all you got to pull is a george foreman grill off the bike so they can get to a plug wire .. the clip does not damage the wire coating..
on the smaller plug of the ECU #1 is W/R and #4 is W/Y

Ok, I have a dyno pull scheduled for 25 August.
Thanks to Bad I know how to connect the sensor to the ECU. Just talked to the owner of the dyno and he says that sounds right, he's done some ZX10s and such before.
He will print the graph(s) and if BG will PM me his email, I'll send him a PDF of the scan of the printout, and he can post the jpeg here.
Then we will see what the F.A.I.C. map does on my ZX14 at about 500 feet above sea level.

Yep, they will print it, and I'll scan it and send the PDF file to BG, and he'll convert it to a jpeg and post it. I don't care what it says, I just want some facts visible to everyone.
If mine, with the mid-range stacks and CT-Duals, can't make a bigger number than average, then we will know nobody can without spending more money on the engine.
But no matter, I am totally satisfied with Jeffo's map as sent to me, after a long trip to Vermont and then again this weekend. The guys in VT kidded me that when I was going from the main Resort Hotel down to my lodge in the dark, they could see flames coming out cans when I let off setting up for corners. I wish someone had video-ed that. Heh.

I'd be willing to bet your flames weren't 3 foot long like Monster 14's, you could roast weenies on his exhaust.

Naw, as much as you have an axe to grind with Jeffo, you can't do it with me. I don't care what you think.
naw i don't have an axe to grind with jeffo .. jeffo did his track day .. it the idiots that tell how great the power improvements are from his map..when jeffo track day said differant ..

Naw, they said mine were more like a glow, not dragon fire shooting out. LOL.
Consider. Map was made for 580 feet above sea level. Western Maryland, foot of the mountains, Cumberland valley.
Mt. Snow, where they saw the "fire" at oh-dark-thirty coming down through the switchbacks. At least 4,000 feet above sea level, more in places.
Nobody can see them down here at sea level. When I rode up to Lewiston PA last weekend we left at oh-dark-thirty and I specifically asked drag to watch. He couldn't see anything, even when she burbled.
So apparently it has something to do with elevation and atmospheric air pressure. Which makes sense.
Besides, I've had race engines burn up on me, and coolant temps always spiked before failure. Mine is running cooler than when I had the Brock's track-street map.
And considering the number of people successfully running Jeffo's map as of today, it seems any problems have long been solved.

i'm waiting on me dyno numbers
2nd,,,, Bets anyone ? Proven Science in the hands of a pro,,,, or,,,,, Jeff's.
I'll take 50 on Brock. All in good fun of course lol. Love this stuff.
Map must make more power all the way up. I think his peek #'s were the same or close. Most good maps are.
Hope to see compare sheet with AFR #'s.
Good job privateer.

To compare to Brock's track-street map we'd have to go to Brock's website, and dig around until we found the external link to dyno charts for the CT-series. They moved them off the main website when they quit developing for the ZX14.
I'm not going to switch back to the Brock map while I'm there, I am just paying for one pull, with Jeffo's, and then scanning it and sending it to BG to post.
I don't care what the pull says either, I'm leaving it alone because I really like how it runs.

I Googled Jeffo and couldn't find anything other than the 14 stuff. Inquiry on the CBR1000RR and ZX10R sites got nothing but derisive laughter when I said this guy will tune your bike no matter what the mods over the phone for 50 bucks. A lot of these guys race these bikes and Jeffo's made zero impact....just sayin. I don't really know what to think, all of you guys are saying the same thing and you can't be all wrong but when I popped $50 for my Jeffo Fireblade map back in '09 I was underwhelmed. 1bad and Romans, you guys next, try the Jeffo tune and tell us what you think.

Here's where I ran into problems with Jeff back in '09. He told me over the phone he tuned by temperature...OK fair enough, so you put a '07 Blade on the dyno with my same mods and tuned it for temp? Well not exactly, turns out he guessed on my map, no dyno tuning. So my bike wouldn't pull the head off a flat beer when he got done with it. Did I just have a great map to begin with, hard act to follow, or was his map junk??? I don't know, after the second map was going I'n the wrong direction I threw I'n the towel. Have since gone to an Akrapovic pipe with a DJ map and the bike runs great. Not willing to experiment with Jeffo maps anymore. You're mileage may vary.
