Thanks slowmo. I agree with you completely. In fact, for the first time ever not seeing a bike happened to me this last spring while I was at the turn out of my addition heading to work in the morning. I think I've mentioned this previously on the forum. Fortunately, I always look twice just for this reason. I was SHOCKED and APPALLED that I looked right through a motorcyclist. I literally did not see them the first time I looked. However, because I looked again this time I saw them and a catastrophe was avoided.

Mostly my reaction was based on riding recently it's been apparent that both riders and drivers are becoming careless. Here on the forum there have been a lot of bad wrecks nearing the end of the season. In riding, I'm maintaining an even more attention to whats going on around me. As I said in the video, it's like the caged idiots have gone to full retard recently.

we all need to focus on one thing with this post, an accident was avoided and a fellow rider kept his bike upright and was able to share his story with us. we all been in that situation and some go down and some don't but let the positive news be a lesson to us to keep in mind......I WILL HAPPEN (ROAD HAZZARDS ARE HERE TO STAY...DRIVE SAFE AND STAY ALERT...DO EEVERYTHING RIGHT BUT OTHERS WILL DO SOMETHING WRONG. lets just enjoy the rideeeee

The post was not for you. It's for those following your advice. I got your number pal. I can hear you clunk the gearbox, I see you all over the road in a curve... Period. So if you know how to shift a truck like you do the bike, it's not too smooth, let's put it that way.

I read your shit, watch your shit, and like your fat ass, I have an opinion too. It's called critique squids that fall into the JoeA club.

A theory that keeps me alive is that when car drivers begin to pull off a maneuver of any kind, they are conditioned to check to see if there is another car there. Their eyes might look directly at you, but the brain is not looking for a motorcycle, only a car or bigger. Everything else gets filtered out. I've been sitting right next to the drivers window before and watched them look directly at me, then indicate and continue to change lanes on me. Happens all the time. The simple fact of the matter is that we actually are mentally invisible.
It doesn't make me any less pissed off when it happens, but it does keep me from becoming a statistic. I don't mind taking my life in my hands when I ride but I don't like someone else doing it for me.

"Pussies just want to show some pictures and shit and brag about wadding up a couple bikes"...you think Bean's a pussy? He mentioned his crash...posted pics to let others see the damage.I think EVERYONE here regrets crashing their well cared for and loved ride.

"Pussies just want to show some pictures and shit and brag about wadding up a couple bikes"..There very well may be a time when the clock runs out...and as you're making that curve...something out of your control TAKES control...what then?Poor safety skills? You tell me what you'll do making that turn at 80mph,nice and controlled..into it...doing everything 'right',and just then...in the blink of an eye...that deer bolts outta the woods and runs RIGHT INTO YOU.Skills help ya then? It's happening right now all over the world...even to the BEST street guys and gals.I do believe they'd be VERY insulted if someone claimed they 'needed more skills'.We're dealing with life and people and everything here that we HAVE NO CONTROL OVER.Got NOTHING to do with how skillful you are.Shit happens..plain and simple. If you think you're 'running the show'...you're fooling yerself for whatever reason.

Hell...everyone who's crashed on THIS forum has said so...with pics if possible...it's what motorcyclist do...they talk about their rides and such.Pretty far reach there to categorize every one here as being 'proud' of their wrecks..I'm not...VERY bummed I lost my bikes as I did.AND...I firstly Thank God it's only been ME damaged and my bike. Some haven't been so fortunate.

Hey Vic, nice video. That kind of thing happens too often and we need to call bad cage drivers out on it. You could have just made your left turn and continued on your way, but you confronted the guy... not TOO rudely. I think that was appropriate and maybe the experience shook him a bit and he'll be more careful.

There are some things that you posted back and forth with Grn14 that seem to be contradictory...

"If this stuff is happening normally to you, you need to take MSF."
"You're oblivious to identifying threats because this happens to you all the time"

but you wrote...

"I deal with them every .2 seconds. So you don't know jack, Jack!"

So you're telling Grn that he needs to take an MSF course, but you're dealing with these situations extremely often so shouldn't you take the course? "I may be a dick. At least I'm not a hypocrite" Hmmmm....

"And they teach skidding the rear tire in MSF..."

When I took the MSF, we practiced skidding the rear so that we knew what it felt like so we WOULDN'T do it in an emergency situation. We were taught how to AVOID locking the rear (so you don't lose some of your control), not to intentionally lock the rear. (not that I'm saying you intentionally locked the rear)

"Only bikers that have died earn my respect" "If you ain't dying, you ain't trying buddy." " I only respect bad ass mofos that die in wrecks" "It's really easy to go out, fuck up like an imbecile and wreck"

OK, this is some of the most idiotic shit I've heard in a long time. I guess I better stop wearing gear now and get drunk before I ride so I can earn your respect... You don't respect people that wreck unless they die... WOW what a moron. I feel a rant coming on... <self control... deep breaths>

After reading all of this, you certianly don't come off as intellectually honest. You have a close call and avoid a collision... so did Grn14... but you were perfect and he's a fool? I don't think so.

Oh, and I loved this one "Every body here that's totalled a bike raise your hand. I'm not raising mine"

My grandpa didn't total his bike either, Vic.

Yes, I agree. That was exactly what I wanted to do who knows it might save my life or someone elses. Maybe not.

Where's your reply to everyone whos being trollish, short sighted, and cynical? Read through the thread. I'm not the only one. What I said I deal with this stuff every .2 seconds after someone else said they deal with it every 3 seconds? Where's your reply to him asking him how he literally deals with this stuff every 3 seconds?

ain't none of you fukkers experience life until you cut a set of cases in half at 160mph and all the oil and coolant spills onto you tires . then you only got 1/8 mile to stop before you have to hit a fence or turn . try MSF that one

LOL, Grn.

I ain't even gonna bother reading your shit. I told you not to bother posting to me. You're just trolling.

The way I read quite a number of post is you might be a read neck if you read that you'd be one of those 'Runner Uppers' is the same as saying a troll that skids to a stop... Rear wheel only. You lifted on the front and that's forward momentum for the front brake?

No offense, but how long have you been riding? That's JoeA squid tactic right there, fella. And you are offering safety advice? You gotta be fucking kidding me! 'Take my advice guys, skid into them, be a hero!'

I only called you on it because you're the one who started the mud-slinging. You're original post and video were great, then Grn14 posted some pics and comments that were AGREEING WITH YOU and you slam him with your "you need to take MSF" comment and all the BS that followed. Why start shit instead of just agreeing that we all face these stupid cagers. You then made incredibly stupid comments that (if you were actually serious) tell me that you and I have no common ground at all ie. your "Only bikers that have died earn my respect" crap.

Glad it works for you, Grn. First entry in at the beginning is an LL.
3:40 I gas it just because that LL is really an SU (sitter upper). I'd slot myself past that guy and wind up at that late apex. I gassed it just to have that element in my mind and yeah, I could have pulled it off, but he would have sat up and hit the pole. So really, it's one of my DRT's (dirty racing tactics).

I'd get guys coming up to me saying I was too close to them and here I am practicing my craft. Fuck Them! Use the gas then I come up to you. And FFS, keep your rear brakes home!

DID YOU STRIP YOUR FAIRING ON THIS BIKE FOR THIS RIDE

Every 14 that ever came home with me was rolled up on the rack and the very first thing was strip the fairings off. I bought the most powerful engine, not the rest that comes with it. So not for this ride, but since day one. How you likea my front winkers glued to the bottom of the mirrors? And yes, you know it: terrible mirrors so they need improving.

Yeah, I had the left spot match the right spot mirror. Too many close calls changing lanes. So I moved it in where I can see them coming a lot closer in perspective. You'll find out. Besides, I hardly turn my head around if I know they are that close. Mirrors are somewhat great, I agree.

kiss ur ass goodbye

nope. you stay cool and keep riding and expect the worst while on a race slick with oil. and them tail shakes will fukk with ur head!!! whip left, counter steer whip right, counter steer, whip left front end unstable or unsettled every whip. then it all comes to a stop and you set the kick stand down and a puddle of oil runs out from under the bike. that's when you say damn I'm good or 1 lucky fukker today. but I think if it was luck the motor wouldn't have broken to begin with .

ANYTHING TO IMPROVE SAFETY WILL DO BUT WHICH SEEMS TO BE A BETTER SETTING....INSIDE OR OUT....AND NONE OF YOUR SCIENTIFIC STUFF LIKE

HELLO THIS IS DR HUB : Different animals have different fields of view, depending on the placement of the eyes. Humans have an almost 180-degree forward-facing horizontal field of view, while some birds have a complete or nearly complete 360-degree field of view. The vertical range of the field of view in humans is typically around 135 degrees
