Hello Paul,
I am running Mich Pilot Road III's in the test. Not exactly a race spec tire, but considering the conditions, Ie snow, wet asphalt and ice, did a mighty fine job. That said I have a Pirelli slick in the basement 200, "60" waiting for a pair of new rims ordered from the States! And yes sir, they were bought with "hook up in mind."

My thought was I'd smoke everyone off the line (turboed out) and by the time the boost kicked in I'd hit NOS and be GONE!!! I am now hunting a. NOS kit that will engage with a flashed only bike. Predator Racing assures me there is a unit that would compliment this green monster.

Quarter Panel or as I call em fins, are over at Frankenstein Power Cycles in Toronto. Mitch is not only a very skilled tuner, but he is also a grand master of body work. I removed the cage holding the rear under carriage speed wing (Beasts idear) and took the rear passanger pegs out. I treated her to a set of Pazzo levers, gaffer rear rotor, riser bars, driven gas cap, new matching Green indicator lights, running lights and custom LED integrated rear lights. As you accurately pointed out fox a Mark 1 windscreen. Early in the summer she got a Carbon fender and Track Dynamics stretch with lowering links.

I am grabbing some rear sets, light bat and possibly a tiger tale. I have a 16 43 gearing combi I want to try, and of course NOS. Then she is done!!!

Padow!

Thanks bro, I sneak out to the garage when the kids drive me bonkers and look at her. It's not for everyone, or in everyone's taste, but I like. Her!

Just a small note,
I pulled the bike in from the CBlast Ride, and the temps dropped and snow hit the GTA. We have a few inches now. Had I not got out on Saturday, there would be no testing until the fall. It was weird as if, I anticipated this and needed to respond at break neck speed. My woman was like, "wait till the snow stops or for warmer temps!" I told her I couldn't. Friends called me crazy, but had I listened, I would not have the ride report for you all.

Now I retreat to the garage and get back to work. I'll post up to project X when she is finished.

Turbo comment above directed at Fox and his disappointment that I did not Turbo my stead. Not to steal a line from Romes, "there is more than just one path to power!"

Turbo is beyond my financial means...for now I just want to keep up!

Wolf I wasn't disappointed you didn't turbo your bike. I jokingly said that there was a lot of talk about project x and it amounts to a new muffler, flash and a windshield. I'm happy for you and your project, this shit is so expensive it's hard to take on any project big or small.

How do you plan on smoking everyone off the line that's "turbo'ed out"? Unless your planning on running more valve spring pressure and/or high octane race fuel your going to be limited to around a 50 horsepower shot of spray. That won't be near enough power to rival any turbo bike I know of. I have a full nitrous kit ready for my bike, but I just can't make myself stretch the chassis out. There is just something so special about going 9.0s on a stock wheelbase bike.

That something special you speak of, is called skill! Which I a sure you have! The whole NOS concept is new to me, the concept of matting NOS to my ecu is equally new! I did fairly well in keeping up with boosted bikes with just stock set up, the spray should allow me to play a little taller. Maybe even get by a few folks on turbs. It's not a race competition or call out - just good wholesome fun. And hell why not... A turbo runs a good 6 - 7000 up here and a NOS kit matted to an ecu about 1000. That math makes sense to me. I will not know what I can or cannot do, until the bike is set up and running and I am on it, ripping. And of course lined up! But that said, brass knuckles are ready and NOS is one path. So here we go, I'd like to be ready to have some fun next summer.

Oopse! Forgot to address the question of how...
I am researching and learning. Trying to figure out how to push the platform another Hun horse. I've spoken to some dudes that are doing it (claiming it), others who are getting 250 from spray! There must be a path! Then there is the whole learning curve associated with spray!
I'll take into consideration your point too.

RE: CBLAST FLASH RIDE REPORT

Wolf I am now following this thread with great interest now. Where to begin ?

Ok, this thread and perception of speed or gains.

First there is no way to test a ZX-14 Stock or otherwise at minus 4 Celsius. It's just not possible. Yes you can ride with out the use of power but test, No. IMO Your perception is based on more than one mode change at a time.

Wolf you are used to having two yosh slips that exit way behind your ear. Both those slips are packed with stuffing. Now you have only one which is the closest thing to one straight pipe exit under your right ear. Huge perception change. Not being on your bike for a long lay over is also a factor.

Next, Your bike is equipped with hard rubber sport touring tire which we know could not remotely stick this summer with hot pavement temps. That being said, you could not test in and out of corners or straight line with a frozen rock for a back tire. Not to mention Salt and sand we have on our roads. 600 cc could not stick with our current conditions. Sorry but Test is bogus, needs a summer point of view with a new tire.

We all want the most from our bikes and the happiness it brings makes each mode all the more worth while. I too love reading and hearing the excitement you guys have in your online voices, it's Awesome. My input here is by no means related to this flash as I'm sure it's Awesome. These bikes love it.

Ok why I jumped in. Wolf your bike theme has taken the direction of a drag racing monster. Now it looks the part so I understand the want for more. I too am guilty on all counts. But what I'm reading above scares me a little. Look how you are describing what might be a couple of HP gain with your new flash. Dyno will show us exactly how much, but like I have posted many times we all have the same size cylinders that hold the same amount of air the ability to carry the same amount of fuel. Our only choice is how we burn this fuel lean and mean or rich and safe. Logic dictates we all end up close to each other. This thread reads ACME Rocket was Now installed. Not realistic.

Ok forget all that. Thread jumps into huge hp increases. No more two's or three's we are talking hundreds. Now you have my undivided attention. Nervous sets in for me. Sorry just how I'm wired. It's a big Fu.king Deal !

I did fairly well in keeping up with boosted bikes with just stock set up,

No you didn't. Matt was the only one who ever really went for it. I let him take off and ran him down like he was on a 600cc. Not a creep by, a blow by. You were there. Absolutely No contest. This is As it should be when not comparing apples to apples. No shame, this was how I got hooked on Boost. I was the guy being wasted by boosted zx-12s. Cut me deep so why not go for it. So here we are today. Talking power adders.

Maybe even get by a few folks on turbs. It's not a race competition or call out - just good wholesome fun.

Sweet I'm all in if we are having fun. You are more than welcome to switch bikes to keep the fun rolling. As for getting a few turbs don't count on it. Steve shows up with his zx10, zx12,zx14 all(boosted)don't bother. He has got ya. Also no contest.

I am researching and learning. Trying to figure out how to push the platform another Hun horse. I've spoken to some dudes that are doing it (claiming it), others who are getting 250 from spray! There must be a path! Then there is the whole learning curve associated with spray!

Yes a path

Last I spoke with Danny at the track few years back he was running 100 shot. That game you must lead with your wallet. And yes learning curve will take you a quite a few summers if you ever get it. Leaving the line, riding out the clutch(Which wont Hold for long) prepping for second gear while spraying off the line is a job for a master. All must happen in fraction of seconds. Rookies Flip. Which brings my fear up front. If this is your direction there is many wet kits Available to make the task a Easy install. But this path to the 250 shot is a game for Rich Men and professional Drag Racers. Should be off the table IMO.

Wolf if your sure about this I'm with ya but from all your posts above thousand bucks will not bring you to where you want to be. I hope this point of view helps save you some doe.

There is doubt NOS has the ability to run down a boosted bike.

Hello Romes,
I enjoyed reading your post, I'm glad you enjoyed reading mine. It's not often that I am accused of writing creative fiction. But on the creative fiction note Matt is not the only one that hangs with your turbo. Considering out summer ride and 400 burn I hung in just fine.

I am not sure why you feel the need to chime in here other than to try and discredit a flash and in the process discredit me. I haven't said it, but if I feel the CFLASH killed your flash in the winter than it will set the stage for an interesting summer comparo.

I don't want to scrap it out with you and I don't want to play defence games. Your criticism is always welcome and I appreciate your insights. So thank you!

I hope the new 14r turbo bike is everything you want can't wait to see it buzz. I am happy when our members are happy and running fast!

So how about you let Wolf enjoy his bike and communicate it on here without Mr. Big Wallet chest puffing. In reality I will run my flash with Matts against yours. Let the best set up win! I will be equally happy if that is you or C.

Alright Romes, I cooled off, I appreciate the insight!
I guess the hanging with you comment and winter critique got me railed up. It looked as though you were punching holes in the commentary, and I prematurely pulled the trigger. I do feel this bike runs and rides faster than the previous - feels like it makes more power. I only rode a recent variation of your flash on beasts bike, I think you call it flash 25. Remember we (Beast and I) were evenly matched all the way and I was a heavier rider. So if we do our comparo in each bike and detonate a few rolls on - bike to bike, we sould by the seat of our pants decide who makes more power, and puts that power to ground (output leading flash). Maybe that's you, maybe that's C. We will explore this this summer.

If I left my bike alone, as is, I am very very happy. The NOS equals the plain (playing feild) with turbed out bikes. So far in Toronto there are a few cats that run Turbo. You are one of em. I'd love to line up with you and eat a Turbo, but that is not my point or desire. I'd just like to know my ride is running and eating the way I want. I would also like to keep up. Every master begins at a baseline. I think if I am going to NOS out and track out, I need to start doing it and not just writing about it. This summer I am going to see track time, and I am going to (like a zen student) work on my launches. I want to be better and faster as a rider. There are plenty of cats better and faster with more experience. I am ready to develop as a rider - RIGHT NOW (who doesn't)

You have been very quiet these last few days, and I noted it. Lets not let the ZX flash fiasco create a rift or the power mongering divide us zx 14 riders. I have like all members on herr apprecaited the support and technical advice. I am a bit tired of dik measuring. I wish we could just support each other in going faster without stepping on feelings and trampling the next man. Is this possible? I'd like to shoot for it!

Would you have turbo'd your ride knowing Beast and I are up and coming cats on the quick circut? Would you have run NOS if a riding friend was getting a turbo. Em I chasing you, you chasing me, or are we just trying to go fast.
These are good questions.

In the end I apologize for any posted anger, but just stating for the record, making a point about hanging and tires...hmmm...I havn't posted stuff when I rang you or Beast out. I am sure the both of you took turns ringing me out. Lets keep the perceptive evaluations off the forum and leave the rubber on the road.

Wolf out

Of course we can, I have no secrets and share all. If it works the world is good. If not we try again. Worst thing that could happen is we take the fun out of it. I don't care if I win or lose the game but I do want to be part of anything ZX14

Would you have turbo'd your ride knowing Beast and I are up and coming cats on the quick circut? Would you have run NOS if a riding friend was getting a turbo. Em I chasing you, you chasing me, or are we just trying to go fast.

This is a easy one. Yes, my riding buddy Steve has been my goal of choice to run down for a long time. Believe me he knows. All his bikes are faster than mine. Being slower was not the real issue, But when Steve gets off those rockets he is alive, that's what I feel from him and I want it. His excitement can't be hidden or contained. RUUUSSSSHHHHH. Hook was set deep, im drawn to it. Fun reels me in every time.

I bought the 14R and did not ride it as I was waiting for the Comp oil less Turbo Tech to runs it's course. I have spoken with Chris Jones on this Along with Richard Peppler. Cost me a year of waiting but fell through. Still not mainstream enough yet. Went Back to what works. This bike was always going to be boosted. 4 me Nos,I would need a hundred bottles to contain my greed. I use boost from every light, not crazy but some. Very very addictive. At times I wish I had never been introduced Mr Boost.

No matter what you decide motor safety will be our main concern as these big power adders need to be refreshed from time to time. Fun can't be measured, so ya take it off the bucket list.

Hey wolfie, if it means anything to you... When i went to get my NO2 on the sv i was talking with dan at champion cycle... Think matt was there too but he was showing us pistons from his zx14 when he was playing around with NO2... Long story short he blew the engine in 1 pass on a 100 shot. Valves were forged into the piston! He was saying on stock components you could handle low to mid double digit shots but 75 and up needed engine work.
