Just like heathun said, the two were built for different purposes. Good to know the hyperbikes still maintain a torque advantage even with the ever increasing hp of the literbikes. Torque is something worth having on the street or dragstrip. Ricky Gadson did make some awfully damned fast drag runs on a ZX-10 however. They were not much slower than him on a ZX-14. I wonder if we will start to see literbikes setting landspeed records if the hp equals the hyperbikes. Do the current literbikes have a top speed limiter like the 14 or do they just stop pulling at 180 mph?

They will be limited to 186 also. Something else that has to be considered is high speed stability, it's effected by wheelbase and steering geometry. In an attempt to keep them light, compact and quick steering they run shorter wheelbases and steeper steering geometry which ultimately affects high speed stability.

No doubt the current liters and the ones coming in the next few years are fast and just as fast as the 14 and bus, however they aren't near as comfortable and they aren't 2 up friendly. I'd love to have the new 10R for a track bike but when me and the wife head out to tear up some local twisty road or head to mountain I'll take the 14 anyday of the week.

As soon as I get the 10 broken in real good I'll let you guys know how it does against my 14. I can say this for sure, getting off the 10 and onto the 14 felt like I was riding a barge, don't let anyone tell you that 100 lbs doesn't make a difference. Heathun's right though, they are not made to compete with each other...two different markets.
