man that a is horrible story. I bought almost the same OEM parts from I think bike bandit when I dropped mine. Luckily I had no problems other then not realizing that I needed to order the pads for the fairings also. There was no damage to my parts. Hope yours turns out the same.

Yup guilty as charged, local guy would actually have been cheaper and delivery would have been only five days. Rook thinks it's going to take 3 weeks before I get my stuff, looks like I may have picked the outfit from hell! If the stuff doesn't arrive by next Friday (that will be day 19 of this ordeal) I think I'll cancel the order and tell them to keep it, this is getting ridiculous. BTW, Dogo you got it wrong, there's more than one of these shady outfits in Michigan. Hint: Their walk-in dealership has the same name as a famous candy that melts in your...........

That's funny.

They all claim to be #1... I think they are misinterpereting their customer's feedback...

Hey, they can't all be #1. Dang Dogo, don't apply for a CSI position! I'm surprised you haven't figured it out yet with my liberal sprinkling of clues, your superior detective skills and the aid of Google Search.

OK, final clue, the initials of the walk in store are MMMM and the last half rhymes with voter brawl. The jokers I ordered parts from have a different name but the same physical address, probably a closet in the back of the store.

Sounds like you got it right Dogo....finally! I got a call yesterday, parts are scheduled for delivery on Thursday, day 15 from when I ordered, they shipped UPS Freight. I'm cool though, as long as all the parts come through undamaged I'm going to drop the whole thing and move on. The parts I'm most pumped about seeing are the 2010 SE lower cowls in Lime Green I ordered for my ZX-6R. I'm going to swap 'em out with the black lowers for a totally new look. Romans, I'll post up some pics, you might want to try this on your 6R if it looks as good as I am hoping.

2nd guess... you're tough, Mang!

Good to hear your parts are on the way... those 6r lowers are gonna look sweet!... but I thought you needed to fix your 14?... Can't do for one and not do for the others? It's a disease!

I know of the dealer you doth protest about. They are one of those annoying advertisers in the Auto&RV rag that wastes all kinds of pages with MSRP prices and scamming 'BUDDY PACK' deals. Others to avoid are Full Throttle and Chicago Cycle. To me it sounds like they were giving you BS about that order already going through and you having to pay a cancellation fee. They most likely get this all the time once people start to realize who they're dealing with and have to lie to keep the business. They are all about volume not quality. Hope it turns out oK in the end!

RE: Shipping Costs

Thanks Edgecrusher, I'll know by 3:00 pm tomorrow how this story is going to end. It is coming by freight just like they said though, they sent me a Pro number yesterday and I got a call from the freight line scheduling delivery for Thursday so they weren't lying about that. The shipment weights 60 lbs total and the freight bill is $189 which seems reasonable considering it's probably bulky with five cowlings all boxed up. Half of that 60 lbs though, is pallet (30 lbs) and prolly 15-20 lbs for boxes and packing material. My fairings and other stuff prolly weigh about 10 -12 lbs total.

Good to hear your parts are on the way... those 6r lowers are gonna look sweet!... but I thought you needed to fix your 14?... Can't do for one and not do for the others? It's a disease!

Dogo, I saved about $900 by doing the labor myself and ordering the parts to repair the 14 online. Also ordered one Yoshimura replacement muffler for $432 shipped versus the $999 Geico allowed me to replace the entire exhaust system so I came out a bit ahead there too. I plumbed the money right back into stuff I needed...or wanted...like the lower cowls for the 6R...had my eyes on those babies for awhile. I got 3 sets of OEM brake pads for a couple of my bikes, bought a set of BT-016s for the 6R and a voltage regulator for my VTX1300C that went tits up about a month ago. I also bought my daughter a Sony DVD player and think I have like $48 left over from the insurance check....yahoo!

Romans, I don't have a spray rig so I'd have to have someone professionally prep and shoot them. I know you're pretty picky about your stuff like me, so to get the kind of quality you get with OEM I would need to go to a high end painter, Earl Scheib or MAACO probably wouldn't hack it. I figured it would cost several hundred dollars minimum, so when I found out I could get the '10 lowers in factory Lime Green for $218 total with discount I jumped on it. I'll get them on there this weekend prolly and post some pics. The bikes pretty much done now, with an Akra, Zero Gravity SR screen in dark smoke, LED lights, fender eliminator and now the color keyed lower cowls, I'm finished. I'm not even going to put a PCIII on it, the bike runs perfect as is for the street.

I can't add, sorry, $228.72 for both lowers was my cost. Watch out for shipping, I'd get that clear with them before accepting the charges. The outfit I did business with has the best prices I could find on the net and they do specialize in exporting to Canada. The cowls look gorgeous Romans, it would be hard to beat the paintjob on these even if a pro did them......sweeeet! Everything arrived yesterday in perfect order, very well packed, although I see no reason these boxes couldn't have come FedEx or UPS. I'm not going to quibble though, they're here, they're paid for and all I got to do now is bolt all this stuff back on the bike. I will get the lowers on the 6R this weekend and post up some pics Monday. I think you and the boss are going to like the new look.

Part Numbers as follows:

55028-0256-777 Cowling, LWR,LH, L.Green $114.36
55028-0257-777 Cowling, LWR,RH, L.Green $114.36

You'll also need a couple of foam rubber pads as well so don't forget to order those as well.

Are these OEM pieces. Kruz do you have a link ?

55028-0257-777 Cowling, LWR,RH, L.Green $114.36

Great info thanks again. Curious to see how they work with the full pipe. There is one Metal fairing piece on the bottom that must be left off with the full pipe. See pic below, I was waiting to see pics but wife wants now(ugh).

Yes, all OEM and those are the exact price I paid. It's called Cycle Parts Nation, Kalamazoo Michigan. I was a bit bent out of shape over the shipping costs at first but everything arrived perfect so I'm good now. Google them, I'm on my IPhone and haven't figured out how to cut and paste a web address yet.

Romans, I wanted to catch you before ordering. There are only two cowl pads, not four on the lower cowls, one per each side. Part numbers are different. The parts book is confusing and I ordered two extras for the center cowls by accident. You need:

1 ea 39156-0474 $2.53 LWR LH Pad
1 ea 39156-0475. $3.18 LWR RH Pad

Putting them on right now.
