Just got back from a ride, but no victims LOL ! but man this bike just keeps impressing me, so smooth, stable, and after setting up my suspension, it turns amazingly quick for a bike this size, and with this wheelbase ...

And of course the power ! and torque !! off the charts, cruising in 5th gear at about 6000 rpms, and start accelerating, and it just keeps pulling like it's coming off the throttle !! Damn !!

I really need to get my suspension tuned up some too. Its still stock. Does anyone have any good articles about this?

Carabuser, talking about how well the bike handles! you are right. I got off it and on to the VTX and even tho I love the "X", I felt like I just climbed on a death machine. Slow turns (I remember it being better handleing before the 14 came into my life, sort of like when youre a kid and everything looks big and you go back 20 years later and see how small it looks now... just like that) sitting on the ground... but it is comfy!

Omega, the VTX is a sweet bike. I've been thinking of putting something like that in the stable. When I want to have fun and ear to ear grins, I take the 14. When I want to be comfy for a laid back all day ride I take the VTX (or whatever bike I decide on)

I went to a suspension place, they only charged me $25, if you dont have any around you, here are some settting from sport rider for the 14R, and other links :

Suggested Suspension Settings
Front: Spring preload—6 lines showing; rebound damping—5 clicks out from full stiff; compression damping—9 clicks out from full stiff

Rear: Spring preload—15mm thread showing; rebound damping—1.5 turns out from full stiff; compression damping—2.5 turns out from full stiff

This is hilarious, I was just chatting with my boy Romans, and Beast in regard to needing to dial my suspension. I will read and check out these video's and this Sunday I will attempt it.

The sport rider settings are an excellent starting point. The front needs more preload added for anyone with a pair of balls that isn't touring. 5 lines showing finishes your second clipping point post apex tight instead of loose. Just sayin. I have said time and again, y'all need to pay no one to set up suspension. The 14r has excellent suspension that stock can be easily dialed in for most. I will offer help and advice to any whom need it. All you will need to adjust both front and rear suspension is:

1. Black sharpie
2. Note paper
3. Long handled screwdriver
4. Hammer
5. 14mm socket
6. Thin bladed screwdriver

I can't say enough how easy this is and the difference is huge.

Today I had indigestion. Pretty silver MB coupe decides to come into my lane. Running the speed limit, I backed off, turned into the lane the MB came out of. Juiced it so I do not need to see those lame moves I get collected remaining behind it? When I moved into the lane, it was so clear up ahead. Wasn't that sort of a sheepish move was the cager?

Same thing happened with the translapper day. I dart away from traffic splitting up to the traffic light. I now run the speed limit. The pack in the back sort of catches up and they don't pass me, but two are in back of me, one to the left of me just hang with me. It was like we were a wolf pack taking up both lanes. As fast as I saw this pattern evolve I said fuck this and bolted away.

Tried to pick a fight with a Dodge Viper yesterday with my Boy Beast and Fazer, but the sucka just would not bite. I guess he knows some things about bikes!!!

An old beat up classic nissan caught up to me heading down to the rockstore. It had its front fender lowers flapping in the wind? You knew he was one of those that kept driving up and down this road.

I hear this sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, then scrapppppppppppeeeee. Every hard turn or hair pin, he's so banked over trying to hang with me, he's shaving off body parts just about every time. As soon as there was a short straight or a short shoot, I'd leave him, then not touch the rear brake so he wouldn't know if and when I was braking... LOL.

Those tires were gripping well. I was shitting a brick trying to get away and then trying to not stab the rear. It was a little hairy and stupid but what can you do? I egged him on.

I remember when that car came out, everyone wanted one...Sad to see her now, quivering and outdated. Still love those sleek lines!
