I checked with the dealership and the guy said they all have the evap now. There was a 10 lb increase in weight of the ZX-14R around 2018. I think that was ABS and evap emissions becoming standard equipment. Don't take tat as gospel, there may have been optional ABS during this period but I think Kaw was probably planning to make it standard on all bikes along with the evap emissions. Now it is. The sticker on my bike says both EPA and California compliant."

Some good info precedes this post. Apparently the evaporative emissions can be deleted. There may be a code for purge valve failure (I suppose there would be if there were no longer a purge valve) but looks like the kit comes with a resistor plug that prevents the signal from sending to the ECU.
