My main problem is my hands start going numb after about a half hour ! irritating ! don't know what to do, maybe I have carpal tunnel ?

I have one pair of gloves that do that to me. I ended up just leaving the wrist straps as lose as they can go, problem was greatly improved.

@Werks:

Gorgeous pictures and I admire the beautiful blue 14R; it all looks a bit familiar as I was just out there in June!

Wonder if you are anywhere near Avon? That's where the MSTA national convention was held and I was the only ZX14 in attendance. Certainly would have noticed you if you had been there, heh, heh.
I am 65 as well and would have liked to have met you in the foothills of the Rockies.

Wonder if you are anywhere near Avon?

I sometimes ride near there, but live at 8,700ft near Bailey which is in the foothills southwest of Denver.

Here's a pic atop Loveland Pass (12,000ft). It's not real far from Avon ... as the Triumph flies. ... Tom

Yeah, Grn, that's me on the MSTA national rally lunch ride. Beautiful country and fine rally!

Note the difference in travel distance between me and the truck in the pictures, LOL! I think I am the only person photographed twice by the "official" photographer in this curve. The 14R created a bit of attention at times during the rally. I was surprised to see the photo set-up up the hill on the outside of the second curve and slowed in the transition until I determined what was going on and that it wasn't a speed trap. By the time of the second photo, I had resisted the urge to wave and was again picking up speed to exit the S!

On MSTA rallys, you ride at your own pace with or without others by your own choice. They are not parades. I was riding alone, but most people ride in smallish (3-6 riders) groups of like-minded cyclists; allowing for a leisurely sightseeing pace or a quicker transit as you and your group prefer. 400 + riders on this one ride in total.

Later, coming down off the mesa near the end of the 300 mile loop, I was pushed by a local in a hot rod truck! Great fun and I was able to walk away from him even though I did not know the road and had to be wary of some rock debris on the asphalt on the way down. Gotta admit though that on some of the passage down, I was riding out of my comfort zone, pushing my envelope even, but that's how we learn as long as we don't ride over the cliff in the effort.

Wish some of you guys had taken up my invitation to join in this rally; I think you would have enjoyed yourselves and might find the club to your liking as well.

Thanks for the flattering affirmative comments. Next year..........maybe Montana?

Werks,

I know for a fact that I was on 24 more than once. And I did venture SW of Avon but Bailey does not ring a bell.
I will have to check on this particular ride and see if it included Leadville. I have the routes archived and will get back to your here.

Cheers

I just bought a comfort kit from ABM out of germany. The kit comes complete and gives you the riding position of a sports tourer. There is a bolt on billett top clamp with risers and touring bars.
They even give you brackets for the reservoirs , and you can get extended braided lines for the clutch and brakes.
Hope to fit them soon.Had a set on my gen2 Hayabusa and it transformed the bike.
If you buy the kit opt for powder coated black coz the plain alloy reflects the sun in your eyes.

@carabusa:
"Shotgun, how is that ZG S/T screen compared to stock ? do you get any "cross winds" at high speeds or when it is excessively windy?"

I don't find it to be especially compared to the stock windscreen.
You will get some buffeting in the wake of 18 wheelers as you pass but even a barn door like some C-14 riders ride will give you that. The wind hits me right in the facebar/shield,up on the tank and I'm 6'1.

To the OP:
I ride all over the seat,front/right on the tank, scooted all the way back, draped on the tank bag,1 mile flat track, hand on the hip/bike night pimpin',you name it,droning.
Do a 940 mile/16 hr. slog and you'll find all sorts of positions,LOL.
Oh yeah,I'm 55 so it doesn't sound like any of us are spring chickens.
It's in the seat time, condition your body.Riding to the coffee shop and back will not give you any seat time.
Block out some time and do at least a hundred mile day and increase from there. I do a 300 mile loop down here in 5hrs.easy with a smoke break but I'm hauling the mail every where and it's a big stress reliever for me.
You bought the damn thing,Ride It!
;-)

A pic of my '08 C-14 I traded in on the 14R:

I was going riding today since it' nice.Yesterday I had trouble breathing and I thought it was pneumonia.Turned out they think I had a heart attack.I was arguing with the doctor, I couldn't stay cause today was a perfect day for riding. He asked me if I wanted to die on it.Well if I can't ride I might as well be dead.Oh well they will be running tests.

Geez man....you don't REALLY want to die out there on some road.....not really.Get that sorted out with your heart...I've got 3 stents in mine.....I got lucky....my heart attack happened 5 minutes away from the emergency room(just across town here).AND...before that...I'd been riding like out in the canyons...alone.Had it happened there...I wouldn't be here now.PLEASE get that checked.

Implanting a stent is VERY painless and simple.Walk in...yer out the same afternoon(or sooner). You want to keep riding....dying on the side of the road SOUNDS romantic....it isn't.You want to be around for more of the good stuff.

audioboyz, dont mess around with your heart problems, take it from me, I was getting out of breath just going to the mailbox, they did an angiogram, and found out that I had two arteries that were 90% clogged, they wanted to do open heart surgery, but I said no way, my mother went in for elective open heart surgery and they messed up, and she died a few days later, what they did do was put two stents in my arteries and put me on blood thinners, now I can breath and do most things, Please make sure they do a good job, if your ateries are clogged and you dont take care of it, you could very easily die, take care

Yea, I am happy to be alive, but I am not worried, I know where I am going when my time is up, but I have a wife and a son that I would be worried about, but like you said, it is what it is, and when your time is up, nothing you can do about it

I'm not bragging in the least little bit But:
I've totaled 2 cars,a pick-up and 2 bikes.
They ain't found a way to kill me yet,LOL.
That said,I just returned from a little blast on the 14R and it very well could of happened then.
I don't fear life and and am all good with my maker. Getting old is a state of mind in my book.
My Wife chides me to grow up and I tell her that's getting old,I for one am in a constant delaying tactic.
I still ride to fast, take to many chances and love a fast 4 wheeled buggy of any sort and mash the gas.
Life is short, seize it by the throat and shake the living hell out of it.
