hi Kruz,
getting to IOM by ferry seems to be the best option. going on a wednesday from belfast and returning the following tuesday into dublin. this will take in the main races and off course 'mad sunday'!
still working on accommodation! hotels and quest houses seem to only hold bookings for previous customers but there are holiday homes that can be booked but they only release them when all other options are gone!!
cant seem to send PMs so email me on worldbiker at gmail dot com if your still interested?

Great picture you have there Jafo, it really captures the essence of just how miserable the weather was that year. Yea, your bike was a mess when you finally arrived in San Antonio, we couldn't have any of that, we're all fair weather riders down here! As I recall, we got your 14 cleaned up and looking good and the weather in S.A was especially nice for January, lots of sunshine that year. That was 2007 right? My how time flies!

Ok, I'm game Jafo. The accomodations are going to be the toughest part of the whole equation, work on that aspect on your end and see what you can find out. If we can find a place to stay and it's a relatively reasonable price, let's do this.

you just need to get to dublin before june 1st and anytime after 8th but you should stay on and see a bit of ireland. i'll make sure you have a bike to travel on if required!

I noticed Tommy is the only one with a polishing rag in his hand, I was just trying to look like I was doing something.

Just watched the TT on TV. Pretty good coverage, and exciting racing. Unfortunately the people in charge of on-bike camera placement haven't got a clue. I don't want to watch a rider's head for 2 minutes, and a forward facing camera should show more than 20' down the road. The best part is the announcers will stay silent for minutes at a time so viewers can enjoy the sights and sounds of the race, instead of the usual constant prattle about nothing.

Before your criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and have their shoes.

Haha, yea those are some cool shots, I remember Tommy didn't want you parking next to us until we got your bike cleaned up....LOL!

Have you heard from Tommy? He sounds serious about going. Maybe we can get some more going from the ZX14 forum, full house kinda thing to share expenses.

Any takers out there?

Sorry Jafo, must have missed this post , I love that bike, looks sharp! I really liked that place of Tommy's too, right on Stone Oak Country Club, he could walk out his front door and play the back nine.

Hey Kruz, I share the name with John McGuinness..... not is it only the same spelling, my last bike was a honda too.

I recently went for my first ride with the melbourne sportsbike riders club. When they Asked me my name I said 'John McGuinness', 'your joking' they said, 'nup' I said producing my licence, then 3 of them threw their hands up in the air and said 'well thats fucking it...... Im going home'!

I said ' yeah... I was doing nothing after the isl of man this year so I thought I would drop by and have a bit of a look around the place *grin*

was a great icebreaker...... good bunch of blokes

Now if I only rode like J McG...........

KRUZ,
Be very careful if you do come over for the TT one year. Once you have been IMHO you will want to come back year after year because TV, video etc. do not do the real thing justice. Other than possibly Ireland there is nowhere in the world where you sit on an embankment just feet away from guy's moving at 130/150mph on ordinary roads often with the front wheel in the air. (Lap average speed is now 130mph) I have been 17 or 18 times and wish it was 50 times. In the late 70's I will never forget a bloke staying in our hotel (The Palace) who looked a dead ringer for Clint Eastwood. We found ourselves sitting on the same grass bank at Waterworks with him and two pals and lo and behold it was the man himself. He had been before but had never left Douglas and the paddock. I asked will you come again. He replied you try keeping me away.. If you do make it be sure you visit the pubs around the harbour in Port St.Erin as well as the front at Douglas of course. The 'activities' on the front at Douglas particularly the bungee jump reserved for drunks is worth watching from a few yards back of course. Hope you make it and enjoy.

Hello Stillona12. I am definitely wanting to come in May of 2011 if there is anyway we can make this thing work. I have my man on the ground there in Ireland, Jafo, looking into accomodations. That's the real issue, getting over there doesn't sound like a problem, finding a place to stay does. I've heard the atmosphere is unreal, once you come over you're hooked forever. Are you in Ireland or in Old Blighty?

Wow! You watched the TT with Clint Eastwood? Much better than running into Oprah Winfrey at Walgreen's.

KRUZ,
Home for me is Snowdonia North Wales UK where it occasionally stops raining even for the Ryder cup to continue!!! My pals at USAF Laken Heath here in the UK say Wales has some of the best roads in Europe made better by little heavy vehicle traffic to wear 'em out and with nearly all of the north built on rock the roads are so smoooooth. You should find a place to stay in the IofM but whether it is exactly where and what you want only time will tell but Jafo will have the contacts I feel sure.

ROOK.
It was strange watching Eastwood and the folk who recognised him (not everyone did) but in around three hours at our viewing point not one person troubled him for an autograph or to start a conversation when all he obviously wanted was to watch the races. I guess on a day like the 1000cc Superbike race the real stars are on the road anyway not sitting on the grass!!!!!

No disrespect to old JD-----but CoolWhip is almost the spitting image. A little thinner in the face but otherwise a ringer if ever there was one. Do you think it might be? Could it?

"Dopra" and the Doprafication of America...LOL!

I am always suspicious when celebs bask in the limelight for humanitarian causes. Such wonderful acts of kindness and such great PR.

Dr. Phil ---there's another one. Came in riding on Oprah's tails. What a self-righteous foney.
