I really enjoyed my old carbureted model R1 and even more than that whoppin up on my son and his 929. By far the best handling bike and easiest to work on I've owned. I could have the plastics off and motor on the ground in 45 minutes. With a pipe and jet kit it put out almost 140 hp which is nothing now days but it would get a 400 pound bike moving in a hurry back then. Maturity (ok my gut) has forced me onto the 14.

I've owned both 08' CBR 1k put 20k miles on her but my 12' 14R is much better for ever day riding that torque is just awesome just like everybody says needs to be lighter say around 500-520 would be a sweet spot for this sport touring beast.
