Yea, the R1 seems to be dominating in AMA, (that's another discussion) but there are none in World superbike ? it's kind of weird, also I was looking at a liter bike shoot out from last year, and the yamaha was the slowest at lap times, almost dead last in HP, (the outdated suzuki made the same or a little more) of course thats just one magazine, on the other hand, Tom Sykes seems to be tearing it up lately in World Superbike on the ZX10, but really, all the 1000's are good bikes..

Good luck in what ever you choose, I almost bought a ZX10 instead of the 14, I may still buy one ..... who knows..
To add to the 14, not getting rid of the 14 until it gives up the ghost !!

Hey C I guess I get your point but it has nothing to really do with what I said. Let me put it this way. I ride with wolf.....hell were neighbors, he has his 14r and lets say I have a 10r with just a slip on (all it needs) and I flash the ecu. IMO I would walk him every race every time no matter what he picks for the race. Now he has any 1000 and I have any 600 (same 400cc difference) it doesn't matter what the hell I do to the bike and his 1000cc is stock I bet he kills me all day. Now I no I said their 2 totally different bikes, but what bothers me is kawi blows up the 14r with rickey and all the media hype as the fastest beast ever. Yet its lil brother 999cc is pretty much right there in ALL races. Forget size and skill in the riders, that we can't help. But C take yourself vs yourself on a 14r an a 10r and they shouldn't be that close for the engine size. It you don't feel what I'm trying to say I understand, its j u st my own thoughts and opinions like everyone else does on forums everywhere. Just makin my observation that's all. I just think the 14r should be marketed as a super fast tourer that's all or make it 15-20hp more to make it no foubt faster than any other bike.

Well this here thread has gotten lively! Finally some wonder lust! I guess I will summarize some key points already eloquently stated (by Cbalst). First wonder points - I'm cool as a cucumber, heart rate a smooth 55 and pulse like an athelete. I'm not upset at all, just find some points you made zx a bit far fetched and ridiculous. The R1 thing, yah it is in my opinion that according to your opinion I am incorrect. A very interesting position. I wonder why I would care, if you thought the R1 is faster slower, don't give a shit, I can only tell you what the bike did in my hands! And in reference to the operator, sorry bro, ride is the difference maker and the weapon already enhances a great rider. IE C is a very well chistled and precise rider. This bike conplements his prowless for destroying litre and 14r bikes. He just has enough experience and ride to destroy anyone. Ecu flash or any bullshit mod. If you've ever been in the pressence of a great rider, you'd know what C and I are talking about. And only in the pressence of a great rider do mods, weight start to factor, but I am not on that level. Given his abilities I will agree with him on many points as he is a skilled and demonstrated rider. All I see from you are pictures of a stretched out 14r and claims.

I am not a professional drag racer, I do performance mods because I like how it enhances MY ride, I am concerned very little by other folks and I don't do it to brag about how many other riders I ate. Some I eat and some eat me. I enjoy the satisfaction of knowing what I've done to tune the bike and the performance characteristcs it provides me. Not who's faster. This is why it is dangerous to assume if we lined our bikes up side by side a claim for victory nullifies the pilot and Yah, I would enjoy the opp to take that ride.

I know who I am, I know some bikes, I know how I would fair against you, but that does not define me. I have beat all of the bikes I have raced........but I think most of you bigger guys with slip ons or worse with no real tricks on your bikes would personal be shocked about what a newer 1000 would do to you. Even up top above 150 even though I was ahead by then I never left the bmw 1000rr at all he stayed right behind me till the end. Same would be the 10r. Now if C thinks I am wrong about this too. Some of the best riders in the country would back me 100%. That I promise.

I never said the r1 was faster only the zx10r and the beemer. And you guys just cleared it up for me perfectly. Gearing is a very good tool for most bikes. It helps to move the bike much faster from any gear and rpm. And c wow what can I say. If you think my bike with a ecu flash with -1+1 only will top out at 181mph your dead wrong. Without the ecu flashed I gps 173 and had to stop because of room. Had at least 175mph in it. Take care biys I won't bother you guy's anymore. Your really not that serious of a rider wolf. You talk like or should I say type like you live Iin the ghetto with zero education yet you have all these so called degrees. And your main thing is going to bike nights. I did it for you in French and English. That is a theoretical top speed with your gearing of 185mph. You being the factor that shaves off 4 mph due to drag and real world conditions with a heavier longer swing arm and more chain links and related resulting swing arm reduced rigidity.

That makes it slower than a stock 14r in anything past 4th. We grab fifth and by redline when I grab sixth, I will have a bike length. By top of sixth that margin would be wayyy larger. Only saying all else being equal. Ya gotta get real about what you are ridin or you will never learn shit. Just sayin. That bike rocks in your head dude. Better off going back to stock and learning to ride.

In jersey its straight lines mostly so my bike is really just a crusing machine mostly. Yet if I do race against some fast bikes with the strech it helps ME personally. I can get full throttle much quicker and with gearing on this bike to really get anywhere near full throttle at my weight I need it in the first 3 gears that's all. I not rickey thats why I need it. And I enjoy it and thats all that should really matter. Now I now you can understand that as a good rider and a person c.
