It doesn't matter what forum I've been on the discussion of shipping anything over the border always leads to well deserved ripping on F'n UPS. I can't stand those A holes. Brokerage my ass! Fed Ex or USPS have always been good.

Ok, so can some one please explain to me why the vendors use UPS.

I can't buy from Vortex, I have to go to Flee bay, I can't buy from Brocks, Schnitz and many many others. I now spend the extra time to find someone else selling the exact same product 4 more money, but still works out cheaper for me than if UPS gets involved.

I dont know why they all use them, UPS must make it wicked cheap for retailers. Anyway UPS will ship to their own warehouse and you can pick it up there. What a lot of guys do around here is ship to the UPS warehouse near the border, then drive down and pick it up. Depending on the price of the item, gas and duty (if they charge) included it is usually way cheaper. Shipping prices within the States is always substantially cheaper than going international. So if you are reasonably close to the border try that.

I know this is one of those things, but I must say that I really miss Toronto... Any IT jobs up there?
