as for the matte black bike, I think it would be awesome with titanium colored wheels, heel guards, muffler end caps, and little stripes on the foremans (like the red/black bike). That would be nice.....

It definitely looks better in person, to me at least. All styles seem to be fads really, this particular color scheme might not be the safest, but it suits some people better than chrome. I'm sure chrome and candy paint will be the 'new' fad again in a year or two.
If things go right I'll eventually add carbon wheels and mufflers to the bike, carbon heel guards, levers, and gas cap. Maybe carbon wheel fenders too..

Looks great in person. Not a fad. Harley and others have been doing it for years. Sure is easy to keep clean.

Chrome might dress it up nice and trim the faring too.

I finally decided to leave my Blakcbird for a ZX14. I now have the Matte Black 2016. Givent he choice, I might have opted for "shiny" black,, but I do like the Matte. As someone mentioned, beauty is in the eye of the beerholder..

Is anyone else a little upset that the levers don't match?

Mixing in some carbon fiber would be sweet with the matte. There's a company that makes CF shorty levers which look great, unfortunately they only make CF for the lightweights (contacted the company, they said not a chance for the 14). Then there's a company in Japan that makes CF mirrors.

If I couldn't got CF levers I wouldn't done the mirrors too. I know it would be a hot combo on my bike. Maybe CF heel guards too. Hmm that's an idea for maybe next off season, CF mirros and heel guards. I wanted levers, maybe someone will come out with them.

I have carbon levers on my 10, really want the same set for the 14. Heel guards look good in carbon, might add carbon fiber grills at some point.
Think I'll have to make my own carbon fiber mirror block off plates.
