I definitely ask my bikes for all of the cornering clearance they can give. I was running Supercorsa SC2 slicks with a 200/60 rear on my ZX-10R, and still spun it up if I caned her too hard coming off the apexes. I was getting knees and elbows on the deck, so if there's any part of the 14R that touches down early, I'll eventually find it.
Proper suspension setup really seems to be what effects clearance the most. As everyone else has said, it's a $15k bike. $700 for a proper suspension kit is a drop in the bucket. And if I still need to do some wonky body positioning to make up for a low pipe, so be it. This bike is too amazing to complain about a few degrees of missing lean angle.
