RE: MY TURN

So the regrettable narrative is as follows:
I was coming home on highway 400 - returning from Beast's place at about 1145 ish. I ate a peppy Subaru and a raked out hot rod. Wasn't really burning was sawing at about 160kph. Did a shoulder check moved into left lane and wammo hit what looked like a large bag of gravel. Bike flew up, the bars slammed all the way right and violently all the way left. I just relaxed went with it and struggled to correct trajectory from the guard rail. Felt like trying to wrestle with a giant while bull riding as a rag doll. What saved me was the GPR stearing damper set at 14 and the fact that I stayed relaxed and didn't tighten up. No skill just luck and good equipment. I was wearing designer jeans, my 14 nation patched out ICON jacket. Arai helmet and shorty Icon gloves. Was Rocking a set of Sidi afterburner three quarter cuts. Suffice it to say, had I gone down at those speeds I'd be a candidate for a skin graph. Had I hit the guard rail I would be hanging with my dad and saying good bye to my two kids. I got lucky very lucky. When I sat atop the bike the hole just missed my ankles and feet. Could have taken that too. There is a lesson here! Wear the gear and when cooking at night be super alert. Thanks for the well wishes gents but that's the re-play by play. A lot of us have taken some big loses. Feel like this one was small in relation to Bean and some of my nation friends. Casp's bike is troubling. I said to C this aft - while in it I wasn't really scared just tried to relax and stay off the guard rail. The thought of an OPP officer going to my house to tell my wife and kids I wasn't coming home kept me up at night and had me making love to the ole lady this morning.
Mad love my brothers. And let's have no more of this shit.

Geez Wolf sorry to hear this. Glad you were able to keep yourself in one piece. As far as the bike goes, parts are just parts, no big deal. You'll have her back together in no time.

Damn Wolfy!! I know I'm late on this but, I'm just glad you're ok. Sheesh! I don't mean to minimize it at all but I've tore up a few in my day and in the end was more than happy to be in good enough shape to either start fixing it or working on replacing it. A few times I was left healing and couldn't do either for a while, so I'm just glad your ok brother. Like I always say...in the end it's just a damned motorcycle. I wouldn't miss it, but I WOULD miss you.

Damn this season has been crazy with too many ZX14 bros having issues. Wolf glad to hear you're good and can only imagine how scary hitting something in the road at night could be. Welcome to the 2014 exclusive club, not proud to say that but after my ordeal back in May it's good to be here "literally". Bike will be replaced but you cannot!

Sounds insane I know but I removed frame sliders for just that reason, ie in the event of a tip, they do not break my engine mounts. Plastics can be replaced but a mount...not so much. Allz good though Casp maybe a special edition 14r is in your future. Or maybe a BMW 1000rr. Options man, options. Keep us posted on what's next. As a kawi man, I don't see u moving away from the brand!

All Kawi parts ordered now the shipment waiting game begins. Hoping one to two weeks before she is on the road again. By that time its bike cover, battery tamper, stabilized fuel and bed. What an absolute shit season.
The good news is that I didn't spill and add injury recovery time. Thankfully all it was was damage to the bike from impact.
So far the casualties are:
Rad
Rad Mount
Hoses
1 GPR stabilizer
Electrical fan assembly
and fan blades…
Not bad but expensive

Love to know how things go Casp. I would love to see you back on a 14r. The plastics on this bike look like sugar glass after an impact. Seeing you baby on the ground was rough. But as many have said, we lived to tell the story and it's a problem money can fix.
Mad love,
W
