wolf ,beast would be keeping the 14 i have to have something nice to ride with out pain.I personally am a responsible motorcyclist who never exceeds the speed limit, rides 10 under in the fast lane, leaves my turn signal on for miles and stands up on the pegs and enthusiastically waves at harleys and mo-peds

I've very much enjoyed reading the different opinions in this thread.

You all have a standing invitation that, should you find yourself in Tucson AZ, there's a free beer with your name on it. PM me, call, email, let me know you're in town...

Everyone after this point in the thread, tho, you're on your own :)

Never ceases to amaze me how many times motorcycle throttles get "stuck wide open." I've hand my throttle "stuck open" several times, you'd think somebody would have fixed this "dangerous" problem by now!!!

When I'm up in northern ontario,on certain roads I don't what you call it but I get a (?)lifestyle, singing, laughing, swearing talking to the bike ,the tires pleading with the road to have no sand in the corner

^^I heard a story about a cat who rolled a stock wheel base, BST rims and a
Hindle pipe that raced at turbo 14r and fed em some humble pie. You might know this cat too. His throttle gets stuck open all the time.

I've noticed the cruiser biker sites constantly post TShirts designs and images with grand statements of moral codes as if they are having to constantly remind that bunch how to behave. Lol

I thought the entire purpose of the Biker Lifestyle was to be able to dress like a swashbuckling Pirate?

It likely came from the rebel like, hells angel type who lives to ride and party and tear up the town and fight the world. As an example they have relations with who they call their "old lady" and she is owned as actual property more than anything else and treated like it and she likes it. I know some Chicago area club Bikers who are now in their early 60's. I cannot get into specifics but they have shared some stories of the past and the lifestyle was wild and dangerous to say the least. They have settled down now and yes they rode Harleys then and still now. It is not for me then and now. That is my image of the "biker lifelstyle" I have created. I am not saying Harley riders are a "biker lifestyle" by any means and not even close either, so dont get me wrong. I see myself as a motorcyclist who enjoys riding a modern machine more as a hobby. I take this hobby very seriously, but I have more important responsibilities to my family and to remain law abiding and loyal to my wife.

Exactly

IMO, many cruisers who wear all the bullshit dewrags, chaps and such and claim this "lifestyle" is something they love, cherish, and protect are merely 1 percenter wanna-bes
(but who would actually want to be like those lowlifes?)

Wearing harley clothes and riding your bike with buddies and then drinkng together afterwards (or during) is not s lifestyle any more than my riding schedule is a lifestyle. That may sound rebellious to say that you live a biker lifestyle but in reality it means virtually nothing; it's bullshit Meant to impress people

The only bikers who actually live a life that is different enough to be defined as a "lifestyle" would be the actual crime financed, wife swapping, lawless thug element you referred to

And their lifestyle could easily be defined as "criminal and immoral" as easily as it could be defined as a "biker" lifestyle. Not something id be proud of, much less admit to.

I did a lot of stupid things before I had kids, but lets face it, I'd prefer not to put my woman or my children through a criminal or "club" lifestyle. As many of these MC's will openly admit, they are an organized club that derive a living from illegal street proceeds. I respect MC's that openly declare this fact. At least their up front and honest. And the biker lifestyle/ life, ie, living on the edge, partying, assaults and/or crimes that promote the club, posture up its rep, eventually come back to the individual member (karma, consequence, jail, death). If you want to build a family, or have a family that love you, I'd stay away.

However, if your single, and it's a choice and a lifestyle you desire. Than go for it, it's none of my business. I lived beside a SOA for the H and A. Lovely neighbour. Never bothered me or my family. Had quite the harley collection. looked after my house when I went to work. He was away from home doing a bid while incarcerated. Things never got hairy or narly. However once in the while the club would pass by or party in his backyard. This was the only time things got rowdy (never disrespectful, lots of eye candy to boot).

I don't disrespect clubs. I just stay way clear. I never mix friendly with friendship with club members.

That said I like getting out with friends, riding bikes, going hooligan, getting rowdy and enjoying some good ole misadventures. But that's as far as it goes for this old turk.

Wolf and ZX said it well. The hardcore known clubs, Example-Hells angels, Outlaws, Invaders, ETC.. tend to have "lifestyle" members. Especially when they young members and not ranked highly. The bi-polar aspect to them as individuals though can be decent as far as Toys for Tots(kind of a farce), easter egg hunts, pig roasts, and some respect to the neighborhood and neighbors. Honestly though I aint gona mess with those guys on many levels either way. But your right they can be decent people individually and outside of the club enviorment lifestyle.

I think Wild Hogs movie is the majority of wannabe like biker lifestyle people.
