It's 0450 here and I just went out to the garage and warmed her up, while she warmed up I downloaded a decibel meter and the muzzy dual ran 107dbs!! Three feet back from both pipes equidistant. She sounds knarly. Neighbors must live that shit! :))

I am really on the fence about slip-ons vs. full system for my bike.

I love the Brock CT duals, but that's a whole wad of cash and quite a bit of wrenching to install.

I'm starting to like the idea of the simplicity of some slip ons. Are their any kickstand clearance issues with any of the available slipons? I thought I read somewhere that some of them don't clear the kickstand properly. For me, that's a deal breaker.

Those Muzzys look awesome. I dig the old-school look they have.

If I had to do it all over again I would have NOT got a Full & simply gone with slipons.

Just my preference I suppose? I really wanted the dual Muzzy like Cblast has, but

at the time no one had em in stock & even Muzzy quoted me some ridiculous time

frame to get em in or made? (carbon was aval but no black)

Doing akra heads into yosh duelies. Never again. Going full system next time. Never just slips. My opinion though - I do not dis just slips boyz!

I think those akrapovic headers are gonna be a must have for me too Wolf! :) be bad as shit with these Muzzy's!
Note to anyone buying the Muzzy slips, you must use the stock two hanger clamps for the mid pipes where they join the stock header. And you have to use the stock muffler gaskets that fit BETWEEN the header and muzzy mid pipe. Pic to follow:

The advantage to full system is weight saving and torque numbers in lower rpm, slippers breath better on the top end but with a good flowing 4-2-1 you get the same effect, how you ride and what you want it to look and sound like is all yours

Well bobby, yes and no, with the R what brick and akra and everyone else found on the dyno is that the stroker motor sometimes makes higher top end numbers with a dual set up. Ala the reason he pimps the CT DUALS so hard for the R. Same reason akra makes that header we can all buy that fits any slips. But what I am seeing in dyno number data mining is that the R makes pretty great power with the stock headers too. In fact the graduated flow is conducive to high exhaust gas flow speed, resulting in that good high rpm number you mentioned on the 4-1, along with the fat midpipe, ya get solid torque. The akra for the gen I that Ivan's fits up makes a consistent 200hp, but not the highest torque #. Brock's ct duals consistently turn higher numbers everywhere. But! The muzzy M10 has turned in some #'s that make me question the correction factor! Also, the muzzy dual set up hasn't really been given the Pepsi challenge on the R, that I can find??? Anyone??? Jump in if I'm crazy! The muzzy tech guys advice was to run it with my stock headers and that I would be very pleasantly surprised at my dyno #. Haven't done that yet. Gonna flash her first. If I don't get a # my ass is happy with, I will add the akra headers and she'll be good! Either way I am gonna stick with dual set up because all indicated data so far, with Brock's and that crazy $2800.00 akrapovic full system, etc, shows the R realizing its true power potential with flow rate of duals running a bridged or 'into one' mid to even out the flow past the point of turbulence. Muzzy's m10 beats that with size! That things header is a monster. And sic looking! But the dual setup doesn't have the sound drawback. I gotta live in my neighborhood! :)) or, maybe I'm nucking futz and need to spend wayyy more time doing something constructive! Also was the way the duals deep rumble at idle shakes my house. If it didn't shake my house I woulda sent em back. ;) that being said, some of the 4-1 systems out there also posted like 205 and 118!!!!! Darryles Hindle system is about the sexiest fing thing I have ever seen and a POWER producing pipe! I wish! This setup was within my budget and I love the sound! Like wolf says, the best system for your bike is the one YOU put on! :)))

I totally agree with all you said, didn't know the stock on the R was flowing that well, thanks for the info, so when I get my R hopefully next year im rocking nuthin but dual Muzzy, im just a kawasaki crazy Muzzy fan, can't help it,lol. That damn Hindle has always been a sexy ass good sounding pipe! I wanna put one on the Busa or an HMF and take the yosh off as it doesn't make enough noise for me! Like you said if it aint shaken the house or in my case the garage it ain't stayin on my bike.

I have the black Muzzy duals on my 2012 14R, too. You're right about the sound. I hear these 600's drive by my house everyday and they sound like a bunch of bees going by. The sound of the Muzzy duals is a deep, low rumble, kind of like the sound of a 426 Hemi in an older Mopar muscle car.

Damn I really like those black muzzy's ! wish they had them available when I got my slip ons !
