I like that name for the CBR: Joe Average Bike. I like the improvement they made on the 10R. The liter bike "sector" is really exciting right now.
Liter bikes are white hot right now, this market segment has stolen all of the R&D funds from other segments. Which is cool cause my 6R is still near the top of the food chain after a 4 year run. Pre-2008 that wouldn't have happened, would have gotten knocked off the hill by somebody bigger and badder.
I agree the CBR is a Joe Everyman bike and there is nothing wrong with Honda taking this broadband approach, it will handle the much more focused and powerful BMW on most tracks and is a way better ride on the street. It's still winning the track based portions of the liter shootouts without a major update since '08. Honda definitely got this one right, it's a do-it-all machine.
The R1 and the GXSR are a little bit behind but still relevant.
Darn skippy those two are still relevant Drag, I noticed Josh Hayes was the AMA Superbike champ in '11 on an R1 and Blake Young was second on a GSXR. Didn't see very many BMW or Honda in the top ten but they win all of the shootouts.
Goes back to what I keep saying, all of these bikes are really , really good and after mods their performance curves converge, they become even closer. There are no losers only winners. Pick one that fits Drag and ride that bad boy!

Grn and I were having our own future down the road. I said to look up hospice and see if we are that far along, Grn is going to be locked down, in for the long haul, or she is well off to where some old folks home sort of lets your mom shit in her sit. I hear stories. Nasty, even the sons/daughters wait for hospice to clean up their own parents. When Mark got in front of Grn and me... there is were we agree to disagree.
I give warning to Grn. I slap Mark in the face to wake up, hug her... She's not here for long... Call her! You are someone's mother, right? When my old lady gets her hair done, it's near mother's day? She leaves the parlor yelling, "happy mother's day, all you mothers!"

I don't think Mark will be back after that shellackin... then again Mark43 may be Greens alter ego?
May be time to have BG pull the plug on this thread Hub and send it to that place where all old threads go to die. Too controversial for this forum, most would rather talk about Heli-Risers and anodized PitBull spools.

Naaaaaa, Kruz. You look back, this is nothing but a blip. I'm not waiting for ABS. I'm not waiting for a turbo. And I'm waiting for a rack. This is like racing. Stay current or die bye the wayside. I'm buying a class entry. The 14 is pretty much played out hack wise. Now, I get to play with that idle problem or not a problem at all.
I'm ready... Time is ticking away faster than I think. I think I'll Grn up and buy the black one.

Besides, Mark will simmer down once he finds out this was nothing more than an exercise in fun. I'm just going to jump on the next one (top model) that comes out. I think I have the 14 covered. I'll have the stroker covered. If I stay sharp, I'll have the next top model wired watt ever. Just one more bike with more parts is parts to me. It's an exercise bike too. It's a stress reliever in more ways than you think.

That Bling,Bling,Bling, Bing a Dang Dinggggggg does look very impressive! Is the steering stabilizer for looks or to remove that annoying little head nod on decceleration or is there a problem with the 14 that I never pushed hard enough to encounter?
I agree with Kruz that it's time to shut down this thread; I could see that coming and so did some of you who were involved as testified to by your attempts to sidetrack the emotionalism and personalization that was building up. Too bad it had to end that way, but one of the problems with text is that there no way to communicate nuance without facial recognition or body language. Smilies just don't replace face to face clues in discourse.
I thought the topic was good and well presented and that we had pretty much concluded the differences of purpose and plus/minuses of liter bikes vs hyper bikes. I would also like to see the discussion on the track bike build by Drag continue on another thread. The relative merits of the candidate bikes and the mods to apply to them is interesting. I would guess that a lot of 14 riders have a closet interest in either liter bikes or drag bike endeavors, especially if they can't have a stable of toys; I know that I fit that description.
In any case, I like this forum especially because this sort of interchange and "flaming" doesn't happen here, generally speaking. At least I haven't seen it in the few years I have been reading it (not since BG took the reins).

Rook, I like where you're going, most of your mods enhance the look of the bike but something about the Tsukigi is not working for me. Not sure but it might be the purple name plate or the paint flaking off is distracting. I'm being honest with you just like you always are with me....Lool! Good job overall but don't mess it up with any flame stickers!
