$400 is a lot of $$$ just for looks but mainly that is what it does. Had a front wheel brake lock at the track day last summer----IDK if the damper saved me or not---that is the unique thing about the Hyperpro, it firms up only when there is a violent steering input. Otherwise, it's like nothing is there at all. Never had headshake on mine. Just a single zig or zag now and again. Never happened with the Hyperpro yet----but then again was very rare before that too.

Good job overall but don't mess it up with any flame stickers!

No plans for flames here. Just a lot of anodized blue glints and perhaps a few powdercoated scarlet notes if that doesn't seem to be going too far. The Cannon, I won't be replacing it unless I can find a cheap replacement. The look is ok on the 14 (but better for a busa IMO) but I picked it up new for $600 + map. You heard the growl, didn't you? I like that .....all I wish is that the muffler was a shorty. That would be really cool. Leo Vince makes anice looking slipon that is exactly what I like but no $1000 slipons for this guy.

Yeah, that looks like I was afraid to make it more of a mess by painting over....I know it will continue to chip off. It's low quality ceramic. Paint may actually be more durable....and then it will be a hassle to remove the paint if/when I have the pipe redone in ceramic. I guess I have to decide if the pipe will be temporary or permanent. It is high enough quality that I doubt the muffler would ever rust out.

Going with a red braided steel clutch line soon. If I like, I may replace the kevlars I have---but I do like the look of colored lines. The kevlar is lighter, I'm sure but prolly not as resistant to cuts or abrasion.
I have some chain adjusters coming. Hope they don't interfere with the rear brake line.

I agree with Kruz that it's time to shut down this thread; I could see that coming and so did some of you who were involved as testified to by your attempts to sidetrack the emotionalism and personalization that was building up. Too bad it had to end that way, but one of the problems with text is that there no way to communicate nuance without facial recognition or body language. Smilies just don't replace face to face clues in discourse.
I thought the topic was good and well presented and that we had pretty much concluded the differences of purpose and plus/minuses of liter bikes vs hyper bikes. I would also like to see the discussion on the track bike build by Drag continue on another thread. The relative merits of the candidate bikes and the mods to apply to them is interesting. I would guess that a lot of 14 riders have a closet interest in either liter bikes or drag bike endeavors, especially if they can't have a stable of toys; I know that I fit that description.

I agree with you Paul. There has been a lot of good discussions here but this thing turned rather bitter than sweet. I'am in the process of Getting suspensions upgrade and replacing some plastic on the 14. Hopefully that won't set me back too much and I'll start the track bike project soon. A nice thread starting with a debate about how I came to choose the platform and a "mod journal" with some track time reviews should be interesting enough.

I like Rook steering stabilizer! It's a clean set up. My SCOTT-OHLINS required drilling but the warranty was long gone when I bought the bike... THE S-C has two adjusters, one that create stiffer steering which I would use for a high speed run or at the drag strip, the other one is for sudden head shake like when you hit or ride on something. I'm convinced that it helped me land a frenetic wheelie last fall. Do you need it? Do you need a 14? lol It's all up to you.

Agree, stainless, maybe CF would look better. It's your project though! About the Pipe, yeah the peeling is taking part of the charm also the main thing is that the 14 looks futuristic. The canon maybe too much a contrast. Whatever you do keep that pipe... from what I understood it's a rare item. Really I'm nitpicking... Your bike turned out pretty sweet. I read something about this guy who collection k5 GSXR 1000 and you should have seen what he had on 1 them. Really exotic. That's why I wanna keep my 06, with e-bay and the likes, nowadays there is no limit to what you can do to a bike. It looks like you are doing lots of mods this winter. Are you still getting the Marchesini or BST wheels. I'm thinking about going with the March on the ZX-14, the track will probably get BST's. Keep up the good job.

Drag, I think a lot of these guys never have a chance to retire or they get an early retirement if you catch my drift. TT is not for everyone, Rossi and most of the GP crowd won't touch it, way too dangerous. They've averaged two fatalities per year in the IOM TT since they started racing on the island almost a century ago. Mike Hailwood, Mick Doohan, Joey Dunlop and Agostini are a few of the older GP stars that did race the TT circuit. Those were real men. Speaking of real men, Irish roadracing is insane but then again so are the Irish, I should know, I'm half Irish...looool!

I don't wanna start another debate but that's why I give so many props to Agostini. The TT is different than MOTOGP and being able to do both is remarkable. I think the TT is more organic, meaning that the track was there before people started thinking about racing motorcycle on it. All those GP courses can be a little boring sometimes.

Hub! Forget about the speed or the skills those guys have; One of them put his/her elbow down several time... My First priority will be to maintain 100% of concentration for the entirety of a session and ride at maybe 70% of my limit. If I can do that, it'll be promising. WOW - been away for a while and come back to a shit storm!!! What the hell? Mark43 - where in the hell did all that come from???!!!???? Anyhoo - SUP GUYS! Like I said, been away for a while - been really, really busy here in the A'stan, got little hot for a while after I got back from home in Dec - we were getting hit by mortar fire daily for a while there, really makes the internet and everything else pale in comparison when your listening to a mortar round whistling in and wondering where it's going to hit... Fun times... Now that it's freezing cold, snowy and the Tali Tubbies have retreated back into Pakistan for the time being, we can raise our heads back up and resume a "normal" life...
